Steelers strategy seems to basically be hang around until the other team makes a mistake. Pickett doesn't turn the ball over much, but he certainly doesn't move the ball down the field. This worked against the Ravens, but didn't work yesterday.

Pickett is dreadful to watch. The Browns QB, "DTR" looked terrified the entire game. Browns are signing Joe Flacco today apparently.

Listened to Harb's press conference. Sounds like there's some measured optimism over Andrew's injury, as the damage isn't as bad as initially feared. They are doing some more tests, but sounds like it's possible for him to return this season.

Steelers finally fired Matt Canada. Probably won't fix Pickett, but who knows?

Steelers finally fired Matt Canada. Probably won't fix Pickett, but who knows? Canada was pretty bad going back to the Big Ben days but Pickett isn't a good QB. He lacks arm strength. I hope they stick with him a few more years though. Someone brought it up on another message board I visit. Between Bradshaw and Roethlisberger the Steelers were in QB purgatory for 25 years. Granted they had some good seasons and made it to a SB with Neil O'Donnell and a few AFCCGs with Kordell Stewart but those guys were nothing more than a 2-3 year solution at the position. There were also the Mark Malones, Bubby Bristers, Mike Tomczaks and Tommy Maddoxs. Hopefully they're back in QB hell.

This team is going to regret these six lucky wins they have right now Truth is, they need to go into something pretty close to a full rebuild. Years of failed drafts put them into a cycle of mediocrity, with the only thing keeping them competitive being Big Ben. Now they missed, badly, on Kenny Pickett, and it's going to set them back. It's not unlike the Ravens when they missed on Kyle Boller. The Ravens got lucky, and Steve McNair dropped into their laps to salvage the team for a season, but ultimately it cost Billick his job.

That was a game that should have ended with both teams losing. Really ugly football. Uh-huh. Glad Browns won. They're going nowhere with DTR at QB so a 7-3 record for them is less worrisome than a 7-3 record for the Steelers. Steelers are a mess too but as a Ravens fan I wanted to see them lose. Chant is they're going to hire Flacco.

I believe he was signed to their practice squad yesterday but will be elevated to the roster shortly. They'll probably start DTR but keep him on a very short leash, as it does appear the Browns are a QB away from being a serious contender. Flacco is pretty likely to take over as soon as he learns the playbook. It's a great situation for him really in comparison to his stints with Denver and the Jets, particularly the latter which the team was simply awful. He didn't play much last year but he did have a huge game against the Browns where he led a huge comeback throwing 4 tds. Probably why they signed him

Based on his record against (18-3), I think Flacco is part owner of the Browns.

Based on his record against (18-3), I think Flacco is part owner of the Browns. With any luck, he will continue to contribute to Brown losses for a few more games... Actually, I hope he does well, but I hope they lose anyway. Let him throw for 4 touchdowns a game as long as they lose 31-28 each time.

Browns are a QB away from being a solid contender though. Flacco, maybe, is the right fit for them.

Flacco isn't good. He's entirely immobile. He may be better than DTR but not by much.

Flacco isn't good. He's entirely immobile. He may be better than DTR but not by much. This is definitely true about his mobility, but he can still make the throws. DTR looked like a deer in the headlights, he's definitely not ready to make a playoff run. If the Browns can give Flacco some decent time in the pocket, they'll be a dangerous team.

Flacco would have been destroyed in that recent game against the Ravens. For sure. No non-mobile QB is going to stand a chance against their pass rush. Look what happened to Jared Goff.

At 39 I wonder if he can still make the throws.
