If you are like me you hung up the shotgun a decade ago due to work and family obligations. You may (like myself) looking to get back into hunting but there are no 'hunting buddies' or mentors or places to go (at least we don't know about) 😄. Anyway, the state of MD has been very good about hunting classes for women and kids, but till now there has been nothing for the male adult (newbie or otherwise). So with great pleasure I offer this link to the MD Mentored Hunt Program. It includes a one day training class and a week later some actual hunting time in the field. MD Mentored Hunt ProgramHope some of you find it useful. Have a good season. BTW a BIG THANK YOU!!!! to Sprightly for creating the fishing and hunting categories. BTW BTW is anyone interested in a Target Shooting or Clay Sports category?

BTW BTW is anyone interested in a Target Shooting or Clay Sports category? Target yes, I shoot pistol daily in my back yard. There is a 200 yard range a mile away and it cost 30 bucks a year, free! Clays, too tough no matter how much you marinade them they're still too crunchy. I reload for 44 Mag, 9mm, 30/40 Krag (always looking for brass) and 06 and a few others. ALWAYS scrounging auctions and yard sales for "stuff". I now have over 800 rounds of PMC 7.62X51 and no kidding........... 29,000 primers to sell or trade. I don't even own a 308, prefer the 06's but I bought them right and I know I'll eventually flip them. Hope you don't mind my asking ...but where the heck to you live that you can shoot in the backyard and you have a range that only costs 30 bucks a year. AGC & Monumental gun club costs around 300 total and you pay around 6 for a clays. Can't be Maybeland. 😄 Cute about the marinating clays....but they do have a lot of ruffage so that is an upside. What kind of primers do you have? I reload shotgun, rifle and pistol so I am always looking around for a bargain. Yard sales: you can't possibly live in MD central (BaltCo, Montgomery area). The only things I ever see at yardsales. ARE TONS OF BABY CLOTHS AND BABY TOYS. Maybe a decade or two ago I used to go looking for old fishing lures and such....and would find some 'treasures'....but lately...it is BCs and Xboxes and vcr tapes. 😆😤

I own a small undeveloped mountain which affords me the luxury of shooting in my back yard. Out of consideration of the neighbors in the valley I shoot rifles and the 44 hand cannon at the range. 50 bucks the first year... 30 there after, close enough to free as far as I'm concerned.
I'm selling my stash at 2 bucks per hundred primers. I get my investment back and that way I still have a lifetime supply of what I want. Auctions often works for me!

So you moved to an area so you could shoot guns? 😮 I dunno....what is wrong with that? People with $$$$$ move to the shore area so they can play with their sailboats and such? I would think some would be happy that we nasty gun owners just move on and leave the rest to your Xboxes and golf. 😄 Seems you can't satisfy anyone now a days. 🎯

I guess shooting guns is a sign of freedom. The closer you live to populated areas the more rules and regulations there are.

So you moved to an area so you could shoot guns? 😮 .....and where "fine dining"is a Cracker Barrel... Fine dining. Well I live in Woodlawn...Gwynn Oak actually, let me list the 'fine dining' we have here: - We have like 4 McD's
- We have a couple of ratty Chinese places...however the Tokyo Buffet is nice
- We have 2 Pop Eyes
- Oh and there is Monohan's
- And we got all so excited when a Taco Bell opened up. There was a parade.
- About 3 Lake Trout places
- And they just opened and Ihop nearby. Again another parade.
- But thank GOD for the Double T...now that is fine dining. 🙄🤣
All this just 2 blocks from the city line. Frankly, if you want fine dining around here. You gotta get in your car and drive for over a half an hour or more to Columbia or Ellicott City (when dry).
So ...your point?

Eh, sometimes I’ve reached a point on the Internet where I don’t feel the need to explain myself. Just be confident in yourself. Otherwise you’ll be explaining to probably 3 billion people. You might get a headache. 😆

But I think it is more a symbol of 'just leave me alone...I am not bothering you'. But some...regardless...feel bothered...and don't like it....and want and will push their 'thinking' in the form of laws and restrictions. A variation of NIMBY....or ….my way or the highway. IMO.

You might get a headache. 😆 I have no problem with that. However, I do have a problem when people tell me (and others) that what we do is not acceptable in their opinion...even if what I do has nothing to do with them in the least. But because 'they' think it does then it is. The multiple gun laws in MD...which have nothing really to do with controlling crime is an example. The soccer Moms and Xboxers got it in their heads that guns are bad bad bad...regardless of statistics. But by the same toke, have no problem defending the 'poor misunderstood poverty stricken you have to understand' thug that robs using a gun. Rather, I suppose because it is easier to justify in their brains to punish people that just happen to own guns and have never had a run in with the law in any way shape or form.

I 'thought' I had an early retirement ...55 ...all planned out, some property with a few acres and access to a river...but the Great Recession blew that out...then my FIL living with us for 6 years....then having to complete heart valve replacements recently...well that kinda blew that out of the water. But I can't complain I guess, everything is paid for, I have a good GREAT wife and I can still get out an about better than most 40 year olds. How many 64 year olds do you know that can haul 20 bags of 50# mulch up a 50 yard hill ….and live to tell about it. 😄

I go down there all the time. I never feel "unsafe". As for CCW's Governor Hogan said on the "C4Show" that 95% of those who apply for a CCW one get one. There's not much you can do if you're in the 5% that can't. Maybe you can get a pardon. www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/editorial/bs-ed-gun-board-20160404-story.html

Relax sonny boy, WebTv... that still exist, haven't heard that name in years! What part of hip surgery didn't you grasp sonnny, unfortunately for me it's being delayed due to the surgeon having an accident. Once it cools I will manage to climb aboard the Baby Deere and cut some grass now that some of it has dried out.
