I had to drive through western Montana through Idaho and the full length of the state of Washington with the only tape being the driver's Mason Williams album. By the time we got to Seattle I was sorely tempted to throw it or me off a bridge. He has a close following among the nerds. My in-law Jack who owned the tape and the car is a brilliant guy and went on to found a sucessful high tech business. I was seeing a woman briefly. She's an engineer in a big company. She has two expensive German pianos which she pays a guy to tune and probably polish. She also plays an expensive violin and she has two different kinds of harps and a houseful of cuckoo clocks. She's a huge nerd and barely resembles our species in many ways. She has a small library of sheet music but the only music she can play without having to read a score are Mason Williams songs. My theory is that the most successful nerds are Martians and that Mason Williams is Martian music.

Mr John McLaughlin & Friends... wait for it. I saw McLaughlin at Painters Mill. His session drummer is one of the best I've seen live and I've seen both Neil Peart and Carl Palmer live. I think Mclaughlin is one of the best ever at his craft.
