There is unrest 'mongst the owners, there is trouble with the team... According to the Baltimore Banner ( www.thebaltimorebanner.com/lawsuit-alleges-son-of-peter-angelos-sought-to-wrest-control-of-orioles-from-brother), Lou contends that John and he were each granted 50% of family assets, among them the Orioles, but that John is trying to take sole control. Lou also suggests John could move the team to Nashville, where he lives. (Unlikely unless John is a simpleton.) So, the front office which seemed to be better for Angelos' departure (following an apparent health scare) is actually every bit as dysfunctional as it was under papa. Perhaps the brothers Angelos will be made equal by judges, torts and law.

I was reading about this this morning.
I will never underestimate the 'greed' factor anymore.

Fun reference. Peart hated him some socialism, didn't he? Wasn't sure anyone would see it! Yeah, that's my take on it. Equality of opportunity is superior to equality of outcome, when it exists. The problem here is that it does not really exist, people just pretend it does. And because they pretend it does, they refuse to see the culture problems that stand in its way. Like the kind of capitalism we have, which has a lot of flaws, starting with the fact that the government favors large enterprises over small ones when it should either be neutral, or do the opposite.

I wish the Orioles could be rid of this family once and for all.
Doesn't look likely but I really hope they sell the team, and fast.

Fun reference. Peart hated him some socialism, didn't he? Lifeson too, if I recall. I was curious so I looked it up, actually it was Geddy Lee, not Alex. Alex was a self described "liberal" or at least he became one at some point. Neil and Geddy were the libertarians of the band apparently. Incidentally, why is it that every guy I know loves Rush, and every girl I know hates them?

John has issued a statement to the effect that "the team will never leave Baltimore".

Georgia (Peter's wife of 50+ years) has now issued a statementIt sounds like Lou is on the outside looking in, and he's salty about it. But who knows?

Lou sold their father's law firm to himself. I am not sure how that works, legally, unless he somehow had power of attorney. Peter never struck me as stupid enough to let that happen, but sometimes people make unwise choices regarding their children.
