There has been discussion (during radio sportscasts and even a little during the Orioles game) about the fact that the Kansas City Royals has quite a few unvaccinated players, and these men cannot go to Canada when they play the Blue Jays. Despite them having won, people seem to be debating whether it is fair that the Royals have to replace the men who cannot travel to Canada with players of (presumably) lesser skill.
I don't think it is unfair. No one is compelling those men to get vaccinated. But if the Canadians don't want the unvaccinated visiting, that's their choice. Faced with that rule the Royals' players have a decision to make: help their team by getting jabbed, or leave them team without their services.
What say you?

The old adage "When in Rome..." comes to mind.

The Royals traded Whit Merrifield, one of their unvaccinated players, to Toronto. The Royals are going nowhere but the Jays might. Presumably Merrifield wanted this deal and was willing to be, ah, flexible in his vaccination convictions to make it happen. Because I fail to see why the Blue Jays would trade for him absent assurances he'd actually be able to play the half of their games that occur in Canada. It kinda makes him look like an ass, but that's fairly typical of vaccine deniers. www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34337186/kansas-city-royals-second-baseman-whit-merrifield-traded-toronto-blue-jays

Kind of dumb to still have the Vax passport thing at this point but I assume he will get the vaccine if he accepted the trade.

I assume the Blue Jays insisted on it, as in, we void the trade if he won't get jabbed. I'm sure the fact that KC isn't doing anything this year and the Blue Jays are still in the hunt motivated him.
