O's offense looks poised to have a great year. When Santander and Henderson get going, look out.
Rodriguez had a so-so outing, but you can see why they are so high on him. He just needs to be more patient and get the mental part down.

Lots of hits with 2 strikes last night off GRod. I thought he was a K guy. Need to see him start going after guys with that elite stuff we were told he has.
But keep him up here. He's the only long-term pitcher we have. Everyone else is 4-5 bad starts from getting demoted. Not him.

Just needs to work on good finishing pitch when hitters are fighting to stay alive.

So we have a pitching problem.

So we have a pitching problem. Nah, Oakland has a stellar lineup led by Jace Peterson.

Kinda lame to get excited for a walkoff win against Oakland but I'll take it. Should have swept these bums but at least we took 3/4

Pitching will improve, one would hope as the season progresses and we get some arms back that are injured at the moment. Tate, Givens, Means, Bradish. Would also expect Rodriguez to improve too.
Offense is doing well though, 3rd in the league in runs scored.

Great win last night.
What looked like a good pitching performance wasted with an ill-timed offensive slumber party rsulted in an 6-3 win with a flurry of offense occurring in 7th and 8th innings, all occurring with 2 outs.
Then Yennial Cano, called up from AAA that morning, pitched 1.2 scoreless innings and made a few good defensive plays. And then Felix was his usual filthy self to shut down the 9th inning with 3 K's.

The Rays lost their first series against a good team.

Rodriguez with a rocky first inning shut down the Sox with authority, 8 K's. Offense again just keeps delivering, now second most runs in all of MLB.

Going up against Cease, down 4-0 from the jump, I thought it was a guaranteed L.
This team, much like last year's team, doesn't pack it in. They fight to the end and so far it's worked. 6 of their 9 wins are comeback wins.
Go O's!
I'm planning to go to one of the games in DC this week. Maybe Wednesday.

Back to back shutouts of the Nats. Pitching could be coming together just in time for offense to cool down.
I was at the game last night. I really like the area around the stadium. Popped around to a few places for drinks and food. It's nice to be right on the river and then cross the street to enter the stadium.
Nats Park is underrated. It's a nice stadium. Nice experience. Helped by seeing my team win in person.

6 game winning streak following a sweep of the Tigers. Pitching has been excellent and it comes at a time where the offense has gone cold.

If he had gotten to the eight with a perfect game, I would have wanted to see the perfect game. I would never root for another player to get into the history books against the Orioles -- especially a player who should have never been traded out of Baltimore -- but it would have been cool to see. Thankfully, it didn't get that far.

Why? The Twins are a first-place team. If this happens against KC you still don't have my sympathies but I can see the "embarrassment". Typical entitlement of a Yankees fan.

And the Astros own the Yankees.
These things happen. And the Yankees often get off to slow starts. If this season series occurred in July or August the results may have been different.

Won the series vs. Boston. Great 5-1 homestand. Now onto Detroit for 4 games and KC for 3 games. Would be very nice to take 6 out of 7 against them before you start facing some much better teams.

Wild one last night! Bullpen needs some rest, especially Bautista who miraculously got through that ninth with little to no control.

Yeah, no doubt. He's a guy that needs to be able to hit his spots. He's got velocity, but he's just a bit off with accuracy compared to last year, and it's causing him to get hit...hard.

We will find out a lot more about this team in the next 3-5 series, they play much better competition. They did what good teams do, and that's get fat on bad teams - though they weren't overwhelming in doing so, many games were close, or come from behind. If they can hold their own against the likes of Atlanta, Tampa, Pittsburgh, that would be a good sign. In other news, the Yankees are in last place
