As soon as he threw that first pitch and it was way up and in I was like, ‘oh here we f-ing go’.
I also didn’t like McKenna pinch running for Santander. He is not a very good outfielder. That lead off double in the 12th might not have been catchable but he still took a poor route to it. He botched a ball in Cincinnati, which didn’t matter, and also one against Oakland that did. Kimbrel might have blown that first A’s game anyway but I’m certain Santander would’ve caught a ball that McKenna misplayed into a double.

First he successfully stole second but couldn't stay on the base ending that inning. Then at the bottom of the inning, his weaker arm couldn't get the ball to the plate in time. He might have more fielding range, but his blunders are adding up.

Kimbrel has to go. Never want to see him on the mound again. DL his ass. The longer the better. I was there last night. Thank God we won or that would have been a long metro ride back to Shady Grove.

Don't forget his botched catch last year against the Red Sox, and last night, on the final out, I saw the exact same lackadaisical effort when he made the catch and it looked like he nearly caught the ball in the heel of the glove, same thing he did in Boston and dropped it.

Kimbrel has to go. Never want to see him on the mound again. That might be a bit of an overreaction but I did get a sinking feeling when he took the mound. Imagine how good this team would be if Bautista was healthy.

I'll never forget that lack of catch. The bar I was at was rocking and then suddenly deflated like after a Ravens playoff loss.

Imagine how good this team would be if Bautista was healthy. I think they need to put him on the IL or something. Or put him in non-save situations to see if he can rebound. He just cannot hit the plate anymore. With Bautista, well, we'd be what, 28-8 and running away with the division. Most likely. Hopefully they can trade for a top line closer, but with Bautista coming back next year, that might not be too likely. Might depend on whether or not someone already here can step up, like Wells.

Elias hasn't made a whole lot of mistakes - very few, in fact. But, boy, is Kimbrel one. Remember in 1989 when Pete Harnisch stepped on a nail and couldn't start? The universe still owes the Orioles for that.

As I recall, and I was all of 9 listening on the radio, Dave Johnson pitched a pretty good game though.

I feel like I haven't heard the name Pete Harnisch since I collected baseball cards.

I loved Pete Harnisch. Loved his kooky wind-up.

It's surprising that Soto doesn't get beaned more often for doing this to pitchers.
As a fan, I'm enjoying it but totally understand why opposing teams and pitchers don't like the guy.

I don't see the big deal with the "shuffle", but taunting pitchers like that is asking for. Especially since he gets on base so much it's more satisfying to bean him than walk him.

Nice use of Kimbrel even though he still didn’t look as sharp as he has.

Nice use of Kimbrel even though he still didn’t look as sharp as he has. Seemed like he settled in after the first batter. We're going to have to talk about Cedric.

Nice use of Kimbrel even though he still didn’t look as sharp as he has. It is possible that Hyde believes he has the yips, perhaps consequential to a nagging ache. And put him in for a lower stress situation to see what happened and maybe help boost his confidence. I would say use him in that role until he regains his abilities or put him on IL. Just don't let him close.

We're going to have to talk about Cedric. He’s awful against LHP this year. It’d be nice if McKenna could field, he could platoon with him. Or maybe a platoon of Cowser in CF, Hays in LF if he ever comes back.

Kjerstad meanwhile is rotting away on the bench.

Wow, the Twins have been on fire since getting swept in Baltimore. They've won 16 of 18 games.

Kjerstad meanwhile is rotting away on the bench. But he’s also a lefty. I guess they could try him instead. Hard to be worse than Mullins against LHP right now.

Kimbrel looked solid again.
Going for the sweep today.
Good to see Santander getting going.

I don’t understand how Kremer can sometimes go from dominant to trash in the blink of an eye.

I don’t understand how Kremer can sometimes go from dominant to trash in the blink of an eye. He's not elite. It happens. I think he could have been dealing with a blister again. He seemed to be focused on his hand a lot. When GRod comes back I think it could be Kremer sent to the BP.

When GRod comes back I think it could be Kremer sent to the BP. Agreed. Irvin seems more solid to me. Not all of that was on Kremer though, the defense was uh...not so good lol.

I thought they would at least tie it in the 10th. After Cowser swung at the high fastball for strike 2, I thought, ‘here comes a low breaking ball/change that he swings over.’ He must’ve thought the same thing since he took a fastball down the middle!

Yup. Embarrassing. I also don't know why Hyde didn't PH for Cedric in the 10th. He is totally lost. Overall the offense has been very poor over the last few weeks.

Holy smokes, what a game. Obviously super happy they won but that was an extremely frustrating game. It shouldn't have been close. The Orioles blew several scoring opportunities and seem to only be able to score with the HR. This is going back a few weeks, too. Their ABs are terrible and they aren't even making hard contact that much. The series of events when they had McCann bunt was comical. Santander was safe upon review but the dumbass umps kept the call on the field. Hyde is in over his head. Glad they have another off day tomorrow, they need to regroup and reconsider their offensive approach. Oh and the word is out in the MLB -- you can steal bases on the O's at will. We simply never throw runners out. And as much as it pains me to say it, Mullins is done.

I think he was safe too but I didn’t think the umps would overturn that call. They deserve that for sending guys up to bunt who clearly aren’t very comfortable doing it.
Watching the Blue Jays take, was it 6 walks?, is a reminder of how few walks the O’s get.
