I had plans to move to the coastal border between NC and SC but then our youngest son announced that they were having a baby girl. We are slowly moving to Delaware (1/2 yr MD, 1/2 yr DE). I absolutely love our condo location in Delaware but all the new housing going up for the transplants is making it question my decision. First grand kids was a main reason for leaving MD for SC/NC. Going into year 8 and our quiet little NC coast town is blowing up with all them retiring northerners choosing to sell their paid off homes and invade our sleepy little towns here paying ridiculous prices for new homes half the size of what they are leaving... driving up our insurance rates and grocery pricing and the invasion of Dollar General stores. Wait a minute... Yes, I'm a transplant complaining about transplants lol. But, if my defense, the condo we bought was built in 2006 so it isn't part of the new developments.
