We may have not always liked him but he kept the Orioles in Baltimore and for that we can be grateful.

Agreed.
I also respected him for the work he did on behalf of those injured by the greed of asbestos makers and users and for his championing of the labor movement. He opined that the labor movement "is responsible for everything good in America". Not sure I'd go that far, but it has done a lot of good for a lot of people, far more good than harm.

I went to University of Baltimore, which he helped immensely. He was just a terrible baseball owner, but you could always tell he wanted to win. He just had no clue how to go about it.
