Republicans across the country are distorting their position on abortion for political expediency.
Democrats need to hang the issue like a millstone around their necks.

I think we can all agree that Trump's SCOTUS overturning Roe has had some unintended consequences for Republicans that they're trying to navigate through. This has resulted in some double-speak, "I never said that" level of stuff from many Republicans. And it has caused some friction on the right as people like Mike Pence and Lindsey Graham have criticized Trump for saying it should be up to the states. Let's be honest, most people on neither side wants it left to the states -- they want a national ban or they want it legal nationally. If an (R) says "I never said that" and you think they have, prove it. If you can't prove it then let it go. Either way stop the whining. And now you speak for "most people"? Exactly how many people have you spoken to about this subject? To be half right you'd have had to have spoken to 166,500,000 people. Have you spoken to 166,500,000 people?
It's amazing the preposterous extremes people will go to to inflate their ego.

Trump has no core ideological principles so he is more pragmatic than most Republicans when it comes to this sort of thing. He understands how the abortion/IVF stuff will potentially hurt the GOP this November. That's not pragmatism, that's cynicism

Let's remember this when the GOP gets slaughtered in November because of the chaos they've unleashed for women's reproductive health

Let's remember this when the Dems get slaughtered in November because of the chaos they've unleashed at our southern border. Last time I looked, the Dems tried to fix it and reached a compromise legislation on the border with Senate Republicans but Trump and his GOP sychophants in the House torpedoed it

Last time I looked, the Dems tried to fix it and reached a compromise legislation on the border with Senate Republicans but Trump and his GOP sychophants in the House torpedoed it Biden unfixed it when he repealed all of Trump's border policies. Biden can fix it by simply re-instating Trump's border policies. No legislation is required. It's really that simple.
And my guess is that Biden will do exactly that, or something quite like it, in the near future.

Trump doesn't have a moral position because he doesn't have morals. What he has is an instinct to understand what motivates other people, then he promises that. Any divisive issue like this is going to be a problem for him.

A state can't legally enforce its laws on residents who visit a state where the laws are different. But they will surely try and it will have to grind through the courts. And who knows what the highly conservative SCOTUS might do. It has already displayed disdain for precedent in overturning Roe, so...
