Have you told yourself something was a bad idea moments before chance proved you right? Or did chance prove you wrong? It happened to me, recently, and now I have a nice gash to show for it!

Details EY, details! And BTW, yes! I was using a utility knife to trim wax off a pillar candle which would not stay lit. I thought to myself, "You are going to gash your finger", about a second before I gashed my finger!

Jumped my KX250 off a huge mound in a slate quarry, and in mid air realized I was far higher in the air than I thought or had ever been, and the ground was essentially soft slate dust/mud, so I pretty much figured I was toast. Stuck the landing though Couple of weeks later broke my shoulder on another jump which was the end of my dirt bike era.

Changing out outlets with a steak knife wasn't too smart.

And, of course, there is kind of the mirror version of this phenomenon. If you want something to happen, do anything that slows you from reacting to that happening. Cases in point; coming back from the store this morning, having finally stopped for my first (and only) cup of coffee for the day at 11:30. Stopped at the light. Waited. Waited. Waited. Decided I might as well have a sip. Picked up the cup. Boom. Light changes and the guy behind must have had his hand resting on the horn!
Hoping the coffee stain comes out.
