I do like the occasional Whskey-Mac this time of year. Very warming and very Christmassy ... No ice thanks.

Whisky is a year round beverage for me. A good single malt is enjoyed neat, but I do not object to ice during the summer. I also like the elixir of life chilled.
But what is whisky-mac? I'm unfamiliar with the term.

I'm unfamiliar with the term. Whisky-Mac is a simple cocktail, one part Whisky - two parts Green Ginger Wine. Like you, I enjoy Whisky all year round, and neat. I'm happy with either a *good* blend or a single malt.

Green Ginger Wine? I'll have to try to find some.
I subscribe to the notion that there are no bad whiskeys, but some are better than others. The only bad bottle of whisky is the one that is unopened.

Sounds like a whiskey ginger.
"Green ginger wine" sounds horrible on the surface but with whiskey, it could be good.
I do occasionally like a whiskey ginger but I've evolved to drinking it plain with one large rock.
I'll have to keep an eye out for green ginger wine.

It is a tawney coloured wine heavily flavoured with ginger. at 13.5% ABV it gives the whisky an extra bit of kick. There are many makers of it but This is the most popular one.

Prime Malt: you know that dank wet sweat soaked sock locker room smell? If you could bottle it you'd get Prime Malt. Sheep Dip: did they really dip sheep in it? Vat69: thanks to Band of Brothers I bought a bottle of this. Like Redskins tickets, it was really hard to give away.

I do believe flavored whiskeys are actual crimes against nature. If I wanted to taste peanut butter or cinnamon, I would seek out a PB&J or a Christmas cookie. I would NOT want it in my beverage of choice.

A friend of mine asked me to check at stores in my part of town for Skrewball Whiskey because she can't find it where she lives. I haven't. Not sure that I will. It's peanut butter whiskey for God's sake! And she makes this with it! www.gastronomblog.com/peanut-butter-and-jelly-cocktail/I saw it at Cranbrook.
