I get to have my right eye operated on Monday morning, at GBMC, so if you are into praying, I would appreciate some for the skill and care of the surgeon. And if you're into kind thoughts, well, I'd appreciate those as well.
Not sure if I'll be posting much next week.

Rest those eyes and you'll find not much that is new being hashed out here. Mostly the same old arguments. Good luck!

Best wishes for a successful procedure and a fast, complete recovery.
Your surgeon should advise you, but as some folks don't know... avoid heavy lifting until it heals.

Glad to hear that you were finally able to overcome all the covid and pre-op obstacles. Good luck I'll be thinking of you.

Glad that's done. Remarkable technology. Now 5 days of face down recovery for eye to heal than 4-6 months of blurry vision, then cataract surgery...and I feel VERY fortunate!

Here's hoping it goes exactly as you describe it. With regard to the blurry vision, it may be a mixed blessing of sorts if it keeps you from reading a lot of the nonsense spouted here, with an added benefit of keeping your blood pressure low... Glad it went well. Good luck.

After all the turmoil I am glad for you finally got a break and the operation went off well. So you have to lay down face down all day(s)? 'than' did you mean then...... you'll have blurry vision..... can you wear glasses? I'd lose my damn mind if I had to try and I mean try to function if I had to do that for months with the 20/200 (or worse) vision I had prior to getting the optically correcting cataract lenses. I would literally be crashing into walls and tripping over everything. How bad was/is your vision?

Without optics of any sort that is pretty much what I saw. So can you wear your old glasses? Or get something new? So at least you can see a bit.

First follow-up was day after surgery. I could see color and movement, but couldn't have identified what was moving...too blurry and depth perception is shot right now

That sucks. So how are you able to read and respond to posts? Left eye is fine. So how is the right eye doing? I went in for my 6 month followup for my prescriptive cataract surgery. The Dr was extremely pleased on how well my eye healed etc. And I am officially 20/20 in the right eye and 20/25 in the left. After being around 20/200 most of my life. Hope your works out as well as my has. Good luck.

Will need cataract surgery in the eye, probably near end of summer. But overall, went very well, thanks for asking!
