So…I guess people can’t complain this show is boring anymore. 🤷♂️
I imagine this will decide people and people will take sides. Right now I am on Team Rock. I don’t condone what he said about Jada. But I never think words deserve violence. Especially on national TV on the night you expect to win Best Actor.
What a moment. Wow. I still can’t believe it.

Kind of funny but also ugly. Rock has chosen not to press charges.

Here is a better video.
Smith was in the wrong. Chris was wrong (this isn't a roast), but comedians are comedians, and Smith should have handled it later.
The best comment thus far, "Will Smith shouldn't have worked his marital problems out on stage." He laughed until Jada looked at him.

I'm not too sure that that incident wasn't staged.

Imagine being so fragile and full of yourself that you think it's OK to walk up and smack someone over a bad joke. Smith is about to become the butt of everyone's jokes and he deserves to be. I'd add that Smith did this in front of the world, but no one watches the Oscars anymore, and for good reason.
It's understandable to be offended by a comedian... but it's also WHAT COMEDIANS DO. Adults handle this by going up at the after party and saying, "hey, that wasn't cool." Babies throw temper tantrums.

I don’t condone what he did but it’s understandable why he lost control of his anger.
Still, Smith should publicly apologize to Chris Rock.

I don’t condone what he did but it’s understandable why he lost control of his anger. Still, Smith should publicly apologize to Chris Rock. He has an anxiety disorder. At least that is the what those who are "not condoning" but "understand" why he lost his temper are saying. Come on. It's not understandable.

I. Jane joke. I mean, if Rock had spent 5 minutes riffing over the Smiths' marital issues, MAYBE he could have stepped over a line where a normal person would lose control like Smith did. Cuckold jokes certainly wouldn't be appropriate at the Oscars. But J. I. Jane? There's no world where losing control over that is understandable for even a marginally adjusted human being.

Solid acceptance speech by Will except for the fact that he didn’t apologize to Chris Rock (he apologized to the Oscars and his fellow nominees)

I think probably Smith regrets it, will apologize to Rock in private, and the two of them will move on.

It is so refreshing to see unapologetic manhood on display.
Will Smith defended his woman. Good for him.
