I generally like Harbs, but you take the points in that situation. A horrendous mistake.

In this case failure had a number of fathers, but that was certainly one of them.
This defense is going to lose them games. I think we're looking at an 8 - 9 season. Maybe they'll improve but that defense couldn't stop a Pop Warner team right now.

I record the games and will (if worth it) watch them later. Which as of late I don't bother. And I don't bother because much like the O's for the last decade (till recently) it was a lot of hype and as the lady said "no beef".
So anyway I guess I have two questions. - Ok which critical 🙄 player got hurt - Did our defensive secondary fall apart..... as we expected.

Rashad Bateman left the game to have his ankle taped but was back on the sideline with his hat, meaning he could have played. That he did not may have been an abundance of caution.
Yes, the defense basically fell apart in the second half. The offense accomplished very little in that half, as well. My sense is that opponents make better halftime adjustments than the Ravens do, but I have also read that as a general thing the idea of adjusting one's game at halftime is somewhat overrated by fans, meaning that it is far less effective than fans believe.

I don't think it was a mistake to not go for 3. Who here thinks the Bills wouldn't have just marched right down the field and scored at will (because that's EXACTLY what they did, btw).
The defense is simply horrible, and I'm gonna say it if nobody else will - but Patrick Queen is the main reason why. He's horrible. He's unable to shed blockers, he's often lost, or dogging it, and he's not a leader. He dropped an easy INT that would have taken 7 off the board for the Bills before halftime.
I think predictions of 8-9 might be a bit harsh, but the defense is going to keep them from being a true contender for sure.

Although there's a good chance the Bills marched down the field to either tie with a FG or win with a TD, they still needed to do something to not lose the game. Instead, they simply needed a FG to win and were able to control the clock. The aggressive failures at the end of games are getting old no matter what the analytics say.
That said, this is a horrible second half team and they are likely 2-2 only because NE had a bunch of turnovers late last week.

I generally like Harbs, but you take the points in that situation. A horrendous mistake. When I was playing football in HS and college. Every coach I had said 'Never leave points on the field'. I was reading the calculations today that some AI program cranked out. In general there was a 2% difference between winning with a touchdown or a field goal 65% vs 63%. Also in those numbers, there was a 47% chance of scoring from the 3 while Tucker getting 3 is near 100%. But the field goal would have given more time back to the Bills to make one final drive. Which they did anyway.... winning with a field goal. I think the truth of the matter is that Harbs had absolutely no faith that the defense could stop them and wanted as much a margin as possible. Amazing how fast the defense has gone from hero's to zero's. Sad.

I wonder what the 'analytics' say about that. Is it poor conditioning? Is it too much 'we got this' and let down? There be some serious soul searching on this team or we'll be lucky to have a 500 team at seasons end.
