Jax has been somewhat more competitive this year, no question. They still lack offensive weapons. Their defense is bottom half of league, but not horrendous.
Ravens are 4 point road favorites, but it'll probably feel like a home game, as Ravens fans travel well to Florida, and are well represented there too. I tend to like the Ravens more on the road in recent years, I feel like they've underperformed when heavy home favs.
This is another of those games they really need to win to keep the momentum going and to take advantage of the schedule.

I've been burned by the Jags before, thinking I'd travel to see the Ravens blow them out. The result was the 2011 MNF loss to Blaine Gabbert and the London game in 2017 which I believe is the worst defeat in team history.
I think this will be another lowscoring close game. I see Ravens pulling it out 20-13.

Oof. Did not play like a team that wants to go deep in the playoffs.

Good grief! It ain't easy being a Ravens fan... I'm beginning to think advertisers love sponsoring Ravens games, because everyone has to hang on and watch till the final ticks of the clock to see who might have won, for the vast majority of the games.

Lamar is costing himself tens of millions. Should have taken the deal he was offered unless he turns it around quickly.

Another defensive collapse, sloppy offense opened the door. Peters is flat out dogging it.

Apparently Lamar went after a critic on Twitter last night and used some vulgar language doing so. He is unraveling. It's not pretty.

Defense owns the final collapse, but the offense was pretty crappy all day. No way they can give Lamar the money he wants for an offense that regularly takes the first half off.

Lamar missed some open receivers but there were also some key drops...again. I agree about giving him the money though. He's not worth what he turned down now.

Lamar missed some open receivers but there were also some key drops...again. The drops and overthrows are killing the offense right now. Receiver gets wide open, Lamar misses. Receiver gets open, Lamar throws a dime, and drops it. Andrews in particular seems to have issues in big moments his entire career. They just can't get all cylinders firing at once lately. Some of the drops were just horrendously bad. There were a couple of deep throws too where the receiver seemed to either lose the ball or give up on the play or mistime a jump. That said, the defense was given a touchdown lead with 2:00 to go, and couldn't hold it. Even after getting them in a 3rd and 21 hole. That's simply inexcusable. Multiple chances at turnovers were missed on that drive. Peters was utterly dogging it, zero effort. He needs to be benched. Brandon Stephens was terrible, boy did they miss Kyle Hamilton. When all the pieces are there and everyone is putting in the effort, they can be formidable. You were right to be wary of the Jags - they are a much better team than their record indicated. The Lions are another one to watch out for. They should have beaten Buffalo.

Watching the Raven's recently is like watching the the O's of the past decade. - If the offense is clicking..... there is no defense. - If the defense is clicking..... the bats (offense) posts goose eggs. - If both the defense and offense (by the grace of God) somehow function successfully for a game or two. You can count on either a critical drop off of performance from key player(s). Or some injury or illness that keeps them off the field.
Say it ain't so.

Interesting suggestion you make there. You are probably correct ..... the advertisers are definitely getting their dollars worth. Fact is I no longer watch the games live and record them and play 'catch up' skipping over the ads. I got tired of blowing an afternoon pretty much watching as many ad minutes as football minutes. Over the years the games have added an hour or more because of all the advertising. I got better things to do.

But the outcome was not decided until the missed 67 yard FG attempt with time run out, literally the last play in the last two seconds of the game. I wonder, do the Ravens have some kind of record for outcome not decided until the last possession? Because it sure feels like it - Ravens are not cardiac friendly. Aside from that observation, the Ravens looked flat. Missed red zone opportunities, dropped passes, bad passes, and rather soft D in the final possession allowing the Jags to keep stopping the clock and moving the chains. Frustrating, but perhaps a wake up call for the remainder of the season.

They occasionally come out and just lay an egg, and yesterday was one more of those. I wish they could figure out why this happens and fix it.
It seems like there are games where one or the other (or rarely, both) units do not play a full four quarters. They have a good chance to make the post season but they will not go very deep before a better team evicts them.

Frustrating, but perhaps a wake up call for the remainder of the season. I always wonder which Raven team is showing up the A, B, C etc. . Sure, seems to be the trend for the last few years. Mike Preston, has been saying for some time now that the NFL is now the mediocre league. That there was a time that the NFL deliberately set up rules 😏 that made it impossible to have dynasties like Green Bay and Baltimore. (Well aside from New England but that is another ahem, story). In the course of getting parity and "competitiveness", the owners found that they can put a piece of shxt team on the field (think 'The Replacements') and they still made as much money ..... probably even more. And then you throw in guaranteed contracts, ( hey why play if I got a small boo-boo I still get paid). And then add, that it is pretty apparent that these turf fields .... HAVE to be screwing up a lot of knees, Achilles tendons etc..... which have for the last few years decimated .... of course the Ravens and many others. Further diminishing the quality of players available cause they are on the bench... injured. I played college football on both 'turf' and grass. And I can tell you turf (back then and I am sure now) abused your lower body. But back then you didn't have the abuse that pros and college players put on their legs/etc ....essentially all the time. Now its the practice field and the stadium you are playing on a fancy carpet with concrete below it. BUT! It is way cheaper than grass..... and the owners have to watch the margin. And frankly, I am tired of Raven media hype. Particularly the defensive backfield. They have one good or should I say lucky game where they don't get burned to badly...... and they are Pro-ball bound. 🙄 Now like this week..... they they suck. Sorry about the rant. But I have been a follower of the Raven since they came here and have always followed the NFL since Jr. High. For the last few years? I got kitty litter to clean which is a higher priority. I hate to say this, but I think the NFL is on the verge of imitation of "Pro" wrestling. Rant officially over. 😁
