Can they win this? Opinions? Yes, if they grind it out on the ground and don't get pass happy when we are down 3.

Nope.
Couldn’t even get a FG off a 55 yard return. That cost them the game. The defense just cannot make key stops down the stretch but they did play well yesterday despite that. Just needed the offense to get 3 more points and they couldn’t.
We need a better back up QB. Huntley is not an NFL level QB.

Well, this team will surely lose to the Bengals (Jackson will not play again this season, I believe, and possibly not again for the Ravens), back into the post-season, and get bounced in the first round thereof. Then Roman will get fired, doing others' penance, and we will see what 2023 looks like in six months...

Disgusting. Despicable. That hurt worse than any loss in recent memory. I'm so damn sick of this team playing the Steelers constantly with 2 hands tied behind their back. The Steelers are complete trash, and we couldn't hold on.
I don't get what's going on with Lamar. With him, or Campbell, we easily win the game. Does winning no longer matter? I'm sick of this ****e. Despicable.
I'm not even going to lay this on Roman. He called a pretty decent game. Huntley is just complete garbage. Even the last play, he missed a wide open receiver for at the very least a game tying TD, and possibly he would have run in for a TD. Instead he missed by 10 yards to the inside. Unreal. Just sick of these players being babied with their nicks and scrapes.
Here's something floating around. Let Lamar walk. Sign Derek Carr for way less, who's still in his prime and still a decent QB, and he's got Baltimore roots. Focus on retaining Roquan Smith who makes the defense much, much better. Take the money saved on not signing Lamar and get Carr some weapons.

I don't think it is that easy. Swap Lamar for Carr and you change everything about the offense. How the online blocks, how the rb's and te's play. How the game is called. We sold out for lamars style. You can't just swap someone like Carr in.

They have tried to develop Lamar's passing attack but lack the weapons to achieve this, really, since Bateman's injury. I am unconvinced Lamar wants to play for this team, and if that's the case let him walk. Roquan Smith has been a better contributor. Start the QB search again.
Roman will be fired, and he'll be doing other folks' penance when he goes, primarily those who drafted Lamar and built a team around his offensive style at that time. The past few years have made it clear that read option QBs get figured out eventually and have to grow. They tried but so far have not succeeded.

Take the money saved on not signing Lamar and get Carr some weapons. Just imagine being there, sitting next to a chirpy Steelers fan the whole game. In a moment of weakness I confronted him, said somethings I’m not proud of, then apologized when I saw him outside the stadium. Glad I did that, because as much as I hate the Steelers that’s not the way I fan. But yeah I am getting sick and tired of losing to them this way. It seems to happen at least once a year. I could get on board with Carr if we drafted a QB in top 3 rounds and let him develop from the sidelines for a year. Carr is not a longterm solution; he’s had weapons for years iand never managed a playoff win. He makes too many mistakes and is being released for a reason. For a year or two, sure, but that’s it. It also sounds like a way to get stuck in QB hell. I’d prefer to bring back Lamar, get a better backup, and get rid of Roman. And if we are still where we are now next year, John Boy goes as well.

This is starting to look incredibly likely. Harbaugh through him under the (Gus) bus after the game.

Baltimore seems to be the place OCs go to die. Even before Harbaugh's time. Under Billick it was "fire Cavanaugh, fire Fassel". And now under Harbaugh it's been "fire Cameron, fire Caldwell, fire Roman."
I mean we had to fire an OC in the year we won a SB for crying out loud.
Starting to wonder if this falls at the feet of the head coach or even further up the chain...GM and owner's box.

Starting to wonder if this falls at the feet of the head coach or even further up the chain...GM and owner's box. My brother believes the fault lies in the way the team is constructed, and that therefore the problem does lie farther up the chain. But coordinators and coaches usually take the fall when poor decisions are made by others. It's the nature of the sport. His specific issues are lack of depth at receiver, and soft, "don't let them get behind us" pass defense which combined with poor ability to really consistently worry quarterbacks leads to sustained passing drives. This year both at once. They'll be able to keep either Smith or Jackson, likely not both. They better make the right choice or they're going to be mediocre for the next little while.

I thought Smith would make this defense elite but they're about as good as they were before they traded for him. Plus he's the guy who got burned on the game-winning TD Sunday.
We've seen how much we miss Lamar over these last two weeks. I'd love to keep them both but if I am forced to chose, I'm picking Lamar.

We've seen how much we miss Lamar over these last two weeks. I'd love to keep them both but if I am forced to chose, I'm picking Lamar. He did not make it elite - part of the responsibility there might rest with MacDonald, a first year coordinator. But he did for sure improve it. I'd be loathe to fire a coordinator after one season. Unstable, poorly run franchises do that. If Harbaugh elects to remove both his coordinators, Bisciotti should fire Harbaugh. Who chose those men, after all? Jackson needs to come to terms *quickly* or else I'd opine they should move on.
