The NFLPA released its report card. I think we can see why Saunders was fired. The Ravens were near the bottom in player evaluation of the strength staff and mediocre in a lot of other areas, including the training room. Not good, not good at all. One comment from a player expressed concern about rehab following an ACL rebuild that involved doing the same exercises as players with healthy knees five months in. Unsuccessfully. Another player commented that the strength personnel and the rehab personnel disliked each other "and it showed". And that's before you even get to Saunders bringing the team a COVID outbreak in mid-season. That, by itself, should have gotten him fired. Good riddance. nflpa.com/nfl-player-team-report-cards

Lamar is an incredible talent of that is no doubt. However, he is a broken or sick or whatever at the most inopportune times. Now at one time I was able to write it off to 'bad luck' or 'he is a running QB" and that goes without saying.
And I was all in for (aside from a guaranteed contract .... which is a DAS move) doing what they could to keep him.
But where I said to myself f'U, was when he couldn't bother to show up at the playoffs. And then I hear that the union has been whispering in his ear "You go man, you secure a guaranteed paycheck and we all win" and so on and on and on.
Nope, sorry, I played in HS and College, and there is no I in Team and the faster they get rid of him and his price tag he wants. And OH YEAH pick up a ton of early picks. And clear a lot of financial headroom to find or draft real receivers and find an old, tired vet QB that still has a few throws in his arm to get over the hump.
I am fine with that.
This is a team sport (supposedly) not an I sport.
Rant over. 😆🤗

Derek Carr to the Saints. Curious to see what his contract will look like.

Ozzie was speaking to Bernie Kosar who apparently has some kind of sports program and has said it will go "to the eleventh hour". Hardly a surprise. And clearly both Harbaugh and DaCosta were focused on the Combine of late. It's puzzling that Jackson can't even be bothered to come up from Florida for these discussions. And maybe suggestive of his disinterest in playing here. I guess by this time tomorrow we will know if they have tagged him.
As I have said, if his idea of negotiation is to not bend, then they need to move on.

Starting to hope a deal can get worked out. I've been considering life after Lamar and it isn't pretty.

Non-exclusive cap. A $32M payday and other teams can better it, with the Ravens having a chance to match their offers. Be interesting to see who comes forward. If he does move on, they get two first round picks.
