I have to say, this has worked well for me. I got a machine recommended by America's Test Kitchen and bags from Amazon or the Restaurant Store - if you buy "FoodSaver" you will overpay, particularly for their bags.
This process protects most foods from freezer damage, allowing them to be saved for much longer. And lets me make larger dishes, like stews and soups, that would otherwise be difficult to eat before they went bad. I am not sure about baked goods; the food does have to withstand the pressure of the atmosphere on the outside of the bag. "Heavier duty" foods like candy and cookies might do well. Cakes, pies, croissants would be destroyed, I fear.

And it works very well with cookies, so long as they are well cooled before you pack and freeze them.

General rule, dairy products including eggs don't freeze well.
I suspect freezing would wreck pie crust. Find wax paper between layers of cookies works well. Pretty sure most cookie dough can be frozen as well.
Was big on freezing stuff when I had a house full, especially pasta sauces, soups, chili. With just the 2 of us, not so much.

I have no problem with freezing pastry (pies). I don't makes cookies so I can't vouch for them. Why would anybody freeze eggs? Talking of which, I actually 'boiled' 4 of them yesterday, in an air fryer, they came out spot on.

I don't make egg salad so can't comment. Easter eggs, do you mean chocolate ones?

My parents freeze everything. Everything.
We try not to freeze stuff but sometimes its unavoidable.
But freezing stuff zaps it of its freshness and flavor.

Something else that I don't do (decorate eggs that is). I don't see why you couldn't freeze them, but probably not for a whole year. If I had left over eggs they'd either go in or on curries, biryani especially, or in my potato salad. Then of course there is the good old egg sarnie. They wouldn't be around long enough to freeze.

Frozen peas are disgusting. 🤮 You are supposed to cook them before eating them. Seriously, they are the next best thing to freshly shucked, and beat tinned peas hands down.

Something we disagree on!!! I'm shocked! Just as seriously, I would rather eat poorly cooked cauliflower than frozen peas.

But freezing stuff zaps it of its freshness and flavor. I have not found this to be the case, unless the item was frozen for a very long time. How long? Depends on the item, but generally things will last up to six months without harm; some things as long as a year.

Curries and chillies actually improve with storage, even when frozen.

We'll have to disagree. I buy and freeze things regularly and have no complaints.

Frozen peas are disgusting. 🤮 Servicable for inclusion in things like fried rice, stews. As stand alone, no go.

We used to grow peas and other vegetables in our garden many years ago. Back then I used to snack on raw peas straight out of the shuck. Frozen peas, to me anyways, have the same fresh taste, only a little more tender.

My parents used to partner with an aunt and uncle and buy half of a butchered cow. Of course, the various cuts were frozen but there was no vacuum sealing involved and the families had meat for at least one year.

We use our sealer for meats and some veggies, soups, stews, chili...
I have smushed bread and pastries so no more of that.
We have a half deer coming soon so it will be put to good use!
