It's really crazy how the food they make in Europe tastes nothing like the food we have here. It's just so much better over there no matter what it is. When we went to Italy in 2007 it was a life changing experience in so many ways, chief among them pizza. I had a pizza in Positano and after taking one bite I was like "I've never had a pizza that good and that is how I want every pizza to taste from now on". After having some legit DOP pies in NYC a few years later I have made it my mission to recreate DOP-style pizza at home and 14 years later I think I've gotten within the ballpark. Here are two of the pies I made...one seafood and the other a margherita with a ton of basil. View AttachmentView AttachmentAnd if you're even half-way serious about making pizza at home I can't recommend a portable pizza oven enough. You may pay a few hundred dollars for one but it's the best money I've ever spent. Especially while being stuck at home. Those look really good! Now you know that when the world opens again, you can have a true pizza party at your home! Thanks. Yeah I am ready to unleash my pizza on the world!
