Since I don't think either the jaguars or the colts get past the browns, I figure we could play the browns, bills, or dolphins in our first game. While the browns would be the best story, who do you think is the best opponent for us? Who don't you want to see?

I honestly think we will be getting the Browns as it is shaping up. I think they are likely to be the only WC team to advance.
I don't think any teams the Ravens could potentially face in the divisional round poses any real threat. The Browns are the second best team in the conference, but I don't see it going well for them. I was most worried about Miami, but we see now they are no match. Only team that can beat the Ravens this year is the Ravens. This is, by DVA the third best team in NFL history.

I also wouldn't take Miami lightly. Yes we just crushed them but their offense is good enough to put up forty any given day and we just played an almost flawless game. We may not see a game that good for years. Of course if you are a conspiracy theorist you know the NFL wants the browns ravens game...

you don't think the bills or dolphins could beat the jags? I think it likely that both wc teams advance. Cleveland is locked into the 5 seed, so they would play the AFCS division winner as it stands. I don't see them losing that. I also wouldn't take Miami lightly. Yes we just crushed them but their offense is good enough to put up forty any given day and we just played an almost flawless game. I think Miami can score, when healthy, but they have no answers to stop the Ravens offense, and they just lost Bradley Chubb for the season. Miami has only beaten one team this year with a winning record, they've stacked their wins and stats against bad teams. After they beat Dallas (which may, or may not have been impressive since Dallas is horrible on the road for some reason), I was on the fence about them possibly being good. After what the Ravens did to them, I don't think they are. I think they lose to Buffalo this weekend and lose at either KC or Buffalo in the WC round.

I was thinking the Browns were playing KC. Nevermind. Thread fail!

We will find out more about Miami, and Buffalo this weekend, I think. There's an outside shot the Steelers could get in, which would be rather hilarious in the sense of seeing Tomlin pull another rabbit out of the ole bunghole

Pretty funny that Flacco is getting hyped now more than he ever did with the Ravens including in 2012.

He's throwing it a ton, throwing interceptions and getting plenty of help with YAC. While I credit Joe for playing well at this stage, the Browns schedule since he took the helm has been pretty easy.

Oh I agree. I think the Browns are media darlings in many ways and with their QB issues this year they're loving the Flacco story. I'd have to look but I doubt he's had a 5 game stretch where he's surpassed 300 yds each game with multiple TD passes in each game in his career.

Probably, but the Ravens offense rarely had him throwing that much. He also has 8 interceptions over that five game stretch.

Jackson will not play. Probably others as well (aside from obvious ones like Hamilton).

WC = Wild Card In the NFL, there are two Conferences, American Conference and National Conference. Each Conference has four divisions, North South East & West. In the playoffs, the winners of each division automatically win a berth, with three additional teams added to the playoffs from each Conference, the selection of those requiring some really fancy math. The resulting 7 teams from each Conference (14 total) are then seeded into a single elimination playoff very much like the World Cup. The American Conference teams Champion then faces the National Conference team in the Super Bowl. Cheers.

Leagues are run by greedy men. They love postseason play because the tickets are expensive and still sell well. So they gin up rules for letting more and more teams into the postseason. Some leagues let nearly half their teams into the "postseason", at which point one can fairly call it simply an extension of the regular season.
