Phenomenal performance by Sofia Vegara.
If you liked the show 'Narcos', this series could be viewed as a spin-off because it takes place in the same universe.
Much of the show is dramatized and historically inaccurate but it's still a good limited series. I just wished it was more than 6 episodes.

On a related note, I used to think the movie ‘Scarface’ was exaggerating or over the top prior to watching the ‘Cocaine Cowboys’ documentary.
Apparently there was a crime wave and lots of heinous crimes committed around Miami in the early 80s due to the mix of Colombian drug cartels and Cuban exiles.
Griselda’s gang was part of the violence of that era.

I know right? That scene where she's beating Johnny with the baseball bat, and I'm like, "ok, if that's what it would take" HAHAHAHA

I liked the series. I know that it was based "loosely" on her real life but even if only half of it is true, wow. What a psycho. Pablo Escobar is quoted as saying, “The only man I was ever afraid of was a woman named Griselda Blanco.” I get that. lol
My friend named Felipe is from Medellín and won't watch the series or talk about it. He is tired of people thinking that everyone in Colombia is involved with the drug trade and/or are violent.

If you're interested in sorting what's true from what's fictionalized in the series, there's six episode interview with Blanco's last surviving son, Michael Corleone Blanco (yes, she named him after the Godfather character) on Youtube. youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR8pKqZxqnh9J1pROiHH9i3nbqW2NZUjY&si=NKmEUY0AG4D3MCbDHe seems genuinely remorseful about things his family did (his deceased older brothers were more involved with his mom's business than depicted in the Netflix show) and expresses some signs of PTSD.
