Saw this yesterday. Disturbing look at a German family that lives just outside of Auschwitz. The father is the camp's commander. They go about their lives, entitled, oblivious to the horrors that are taking place just outside their home. Offers a look at the banality of evil, and how people can normalize horrific atrocities if it benefits them.
A lot of themes and issues to apply to our current times.

Wow. This blows the wheels off all other Holocaust movies. And yes, it offers scads of lessons to our current mess. The banality of evil is certainly on full display. It sends a chill up the spine to be faced with the critical inch separating our humanity from the Germans 80 years ago.
