Wildfires Ravage Western US

 

Thank you Kandace. The Gifford fire is horrendous. Evacuations in my county are happening daily. It's oddly interesting in the similarities this is to the dustbowl 30s and in the differences to how government responded. The difference of course was FDR chose for his VP a man who had perfected hybrid seeds for crops that would grow in dustbowl conditions and stabilize the soil. Along with this the planting of trees and revolutionary farming techniques were begun along with stabilizing the market to prevent the mass growing of single crops. I point this out as an example of a president that actually applied himself to solving American problems in contrast to the criminal tyrant we have in office today who applies himself to graft.

I don't know how native Californians accustom themselves to wildfires. Calfire burned and dozed a fire line yesterday which has worked. The smoke was belching but the onshore winds kept the worst of it at bay. My town looks to be out of the woods as the fire has edged northward. Here's a couple of photos pulled from fB.

Because doing something about it might improve the quality of life for ordinary Americans instead of adding profit to his donors' bottom lines.
