This is an Amazon Prime show in its second season.
I'm halfway through the second season and it is much darker than the first season. The show is a dark comedy/drama about an intelligence operation against Iran that has gone wrong. The show is less about the intel-op and more about John Tavner (Michael Dorman) a badly burnt out field op, and his handler, none other than his dad, Tom Tavner (Terry O'Quinn). Throw in a stange Luxemborg detective, Agathe Albans (Aliette Opheim), and some other odd ball characters like Leslie Claret (Kurtwood Smith) and the show is just plain surreal. The plot staggers all over the place and is some what hard to follow as it is mostly driven by the characters and less by the story. If this show was a person it would be bi-polar. Funny highs and depressing lows.
I'm halfway through the second season and it is darker but almost in a comic sense in that anything that can go wrong does go wrong. It is a slow moving show as it is more about the characters and how they interact than the Iranian plot that takes a back seat to all of this. I wouldn't say it is for everyone. If you can't get into it after a few episodes then it is not for you. It depends on you getting hooked on the characters. If you don't like the characters then you're not going to like it.

Whelp, that was depressing. I watched the rest of season 2. I'm left wondering what the point of this show is other than how to abuse people you care about and get away with it. It really ended on a down note. After this, I don't see it getting a third season.
