Fascinating BBC investigation into what we know about the big guy.

Very interesting. Being a Holy Roman Catholic from Polish roots, I always felt (or was taught) that Budism was more a life style than a religion. I have always seen the similarities, and have been intrigued. It makes sense that the Child Jesus would be exposed to other perspectives, after debating with the Elders in Jerusalem at such a young age. Then again, there was all that mryrr, frankincense, and *gold* delivered from the Eastern Kings to pay for that kind of education.
The linked videos are excellent.
Thank you!

Jesus was a Jew who was also the first Catholic priest. He was never a buddhist or a homosexual or anything which the atheists or the collapsed Catholics wanted or hoped he would be. He was the founder of the Catholic Church, which was set up to save mankind from the fiery pits of hell, which are for eternity. You cannot pray your way out of hell or get a get out of hell free card when you play monopoly in hell with the damned angels (demons). Good intentions but then the road to hell is paved with the skulls of Catholic bishops. Hope this helps! God bless you zen and other malcontents.

Budism speaks of following a path. Every path has a trailblazer. Every trailblazer started somewhere, and finished somewhere. Jesus, God On Earth, the Alpha and the Omega, showed us the path to salvation. He walks beside us. The path is wide at the begining, from many feet. It narrows and becomes difficult, but He walks beside us.

Spent those first 8 years of school in Nun City. As I recall if it wasn't Every morning it was darn close that we had 8AM Mass every day before class. Then we were expected to go again Sunday with the family to 9AM Mass. Then all the other stuff, 1st Holy Communion, Confessions, Stations of the Cross, Novenas, then Confirmation (or was it ConfOrmation) before breaking out and going to Poly. After I got out I figured I'd already spent enough time in Church that I was "Paid Up" for the rest of my life. Have only gone since then for Weddings & Funerals. I remember going a couple times when Mom & Dad got the H away for a weekend and my Grandparents took me to Holy Rosary in Highlandtown for Mass and there it was in Polish! I had a heck of a time with Latin and then they sprung That on me! I didn't know what the H was going on. Anyway I guess I turned out OK, never been in trouble with the Law. Guess that's all you can ask for.
Anyway, I think that Jesus comes from the Hebrew Yeshua, their form of Joshua so I guess you could really call him Josh Christ.
