I'd say that that sounds about right or thereabouts. Take myself for instance, I am not an irreligious man but I do not align with any particular church, I totally refuse to accept that God has a preferential chat list and only works through 'channels' of hierachy. I figure that a real god will talk as directly to me as he would with the pope, therefore Catholicism is 'straight out of the window, to me. While all of my documentation would peg me as C of E, I would say that the nearest belief to my own would be Quakerism, and I do not belong to that religion either. There really needs to be a third category in the study, which is placed between the two listed, I think that you would find me there.

Hopefully we can overcome our dependency on antiquated superstitions, but it seems sadly a long way off.
