I got a certified letter from the MD Department of Budget and Management concerning my retiree prescription plan, which may change pending the result of a lawsuit. I know the state wanted to change it, but was then sued to keep the status quo. One option is for those retiring before the end of the year; another for those retiring next year or later.
Anyone have any more info on this?

Thanks, Matt. I've received notice of a certified letter being held at the Post Office. I thought it was something else, but maybe it's this. Looks like some changes are coming, perhaps with more help for some expensive drugs. I'll be looking for more information . . . in a simpler form! Not quite sure that the final bill really reads with the cross-outs, underlines, brackets, capitals, etc.

Found this on the DBM web site: dbm.maryland.gov/benefits/pages/SB946.aspxThere's also a link to the certified letter that was sent out, apparently what you received, Matt. As I read this, those of us who are retired can keep out existing prescription plan (Option 1 in the letter), and we also qualify for the life sustaining assistance program (option 3). The catastrophic program is off the table for us.
