The Amazon Prime show based on the Tom Clancy character. For me, the best way to describe this show so far is a series of highly implausible action events. The show is more action driven this time out and therefore moves at a better pace but the big question remains as to why? The modus operandi of the show appears to be, "How can I get myself into a gun fight?" Don't get me started on the four man special ops team in the jungle and what is motivating them as they seem to be the kings of bad decision making. It is almost unintentionally comic. I'm 5 of 8 episodes in and it looks to be telegraphing the plot twist. I'll bet one shiny penny that the ultimate bad guy is not who is being telegraphed as the bad guy.
I was hoping for more of a political intrigue show that would be more in line with the Jack Ryan character. Instead he is being a super hero. Okay... whatever.

The plot turn that I thought was coming didn't come. Instead the show jumped the shark in order to have an entirely ridiculous action sequence. If you like action shows then this season might be for you but you REALLY need to give up on reality to enjoy it.

I thought about giving this a go...I like Krasinski...but I'm not really into action shows, I prefer to get my action from the movies.

Even in action movies it helps if there is a plausible reason for the action. It is just not here. It is so bad as to be comical. I was laughing at what was going on in the final episode.

I watch World Wrestling Entertainment, and also politics. So I am adept at suspending my judgement. Imma look this up and go with the flow. Can't be any worse than The Punisher, and he was a Bad Man.

If you're okay with WWE goes to Venezuela then you'll be okay with this. I expected a little more cloak and dagger / intrigue and it just wasn't there at all.

I'd recommend Homeland over this show all day every day. I've been trying to like JR but this may be one of those few occasions I agree with semi. We've plowed through 5 episodes but it's likely going to be abandoned as a waste of time here. Besides, I hear the latest season really blows.

Finished S2 last night. I agree it is pretty ridiculous and was hoping for more of a JR character from the movies, which was what S1 seemed to be going for. But when CIA agents are raiding a foreign presidents palace it is too much disbelief to suspend. That said, the show is really well made. I’ve been impressed with the budgets Amazon is throwing at their shows.

Season 3 was a snoozefest.

Season 3 was a snoozefest. Halfway through season 3, it's entertaining. But I ultimately prefer book version of Jack Ryan who's an analyst (and later politician) who sometimes finds himself in extraordinary situations. Jack Ryan the operator is more like his son Jack Jr in the later books.

Finished season 3, pretty decent. But the whole thing seemed like a Sum of all Fears remake that like the movie, was not nearly as good as the book.
