This is an Amazon Prime show.
This show was average. I thought it was kind of flat with just about every terrorist plot trope paid homage to. The plot had very few twists. There was nothing all that interesting or fresh about it. It had its fair share of action scenes but they were very predictable.
I'm not a fan of John Krasinkski's portrayal of Jack Ryan. It got into his backstory some but not in a very interesting way. His story about meeting Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish) came across as not much more than his character needing a girlfriend. It was clumsy at best. Wendell Pierce's turn as James Greer was a waste of Pierce's talent. On a better note, Suleiman had the best back story and was well played by Ali Suliman. The antagonist had the best story.
And then there was the whole side story of the drone pilot which apparently had nothing to do with anything.
It has already been renewed for a second season. Let's just hope it gets a better story on its second outing.

I can't think of a show or a movie that was better than the book.

I can't think of a show or a movie that was better than the book. The movie version of "The Player" (w/ Tim Robbins) far outshined the book, which was terribly written. Same same for "Peyton Place"....

The effect on the screen is pretty good. It is Christmas time indeed. We all know how excited everybody is to watch shows and movies during this time. It was good coming across this review as well. I am adding some good shows by Andy Yeatman to the watch list because that will be great for the kids.

I can't think of a show or a movie that was better than the book. Alastair Sim's 1951 version of A Christmas Carol is as good as the book and also the most acurate portrayal of it.
