Father,
Our new President has a difficult task in front of him. Our nation is feeling the effects of extreme politics. We are hurt, angry, fearful of an illness we don't seem to be able to mitigate and too many of us are unemployed. The past four years have been demanding and many of us are tired of the constant bickering that occurs when extremes meet.
We ask that you give Mr. Biden strength, focus and patience, that he might bear up well in the face of the challenges he is about to undertake. If nothing else, he is right in one thing; we are a good people, though we sometimes lose our way.
We ask too that you help us remember the blessings that have come upon us. Even in the face of adversarial politics and extreme language, remind us we are all Americans, the "last best hope" of mankind and that together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
We ask this in Your Son's name.
Amen
