Remember that movie causing a stir among the right back in fall 2019? The movie they were freaked out about without having even seen it?
I watched it last night, it's on HBO Max.
All that fuss over nothing. The conservatives featured in the film actually come off looking like the normal people with the liberal elites being skewed. However, the movie is pretty prophetic in that it features a conspiracy theory that the right believes is true despite it not being real, and there's a decent twist to explain it. Anyway, that part of the movie definitely feels different after the right perpetuated 1/6, The Big Lie and COVID/vaccine denial.
So at the time, it actually portrayed the right pretty fairly, but the right has taken it upon themselves to hit rock bottom since then. So already the movie feels dated in that respect.
In the end it's a dumb movie, kinda funny, and really violent. Biggest takeaway from it is the lead actress, Betty Gilpin. She was excellent in it.

Yeah I came away thinking the same thing. The movie seems to make Liberals look worse than Conservatives.
Weird how most of the backlash against the movie came from the Right…
