It's common sense. Do you really think the FBI or DOJ didn't notify Joe Biden's Secret Service detail about Hunter's laptop when they took it into their custody in 2019? They would be under no obligation to do so. Does the FBI always notify potential suspects of investigations that they have evidence in their possession? Know a lot about investigative practices and procedures do we? You're just trying to manufacture a scandal. Nothing else This isn't a normal investigation. At the time, it involved the son of a former Vice President (national security concerns). Also, the Biden family has close personal ties to the DOJ prosecutors in Delaware (where the laptop was discovered). Before investigating Hunter Biden, prosecutor worked with brother BeauLastly, do you honestly believe Hunter didn't know he left his laptop at the repair shop? If it had been stolen from him and taken to the repair shop by someone else for some weird reason, he could've reported it to the police and there would be a police report about the theft. So based on all the above information, I find it extremely difficult to believe that Biden's campaign acted in good faith in the Fall of 2020 when they asked the retired Intelligence officials to write that letter. Biden and his close aides had to have known at the time that the FBI had Hunter's laptop. So the whole "Russian disinfo op" letter looks more like an attempt at Damage Control with 20-20 hindsight...

It was organized by Biden's campaign and apparently some person or persons who are still employed by the US government helped to get signitures. These retired intel officials didn't independently decide to make that letter. It was coordinated with and prompted by Biden's campaign. News outlets were unaware of the origins of the letter at the time. It's fine if you're okay with that. I'm just setting the historic record straight now that we know far more than we did in 2020. When did I ever say I was okay with it? For me, the letter falls into the category of political campaign trick. Again, all I’m saying is, I don’t think it’s the FBIs job to go around correcting misinformation put out by private citizens.

He absolutely is presumed innocent and that's why he's a free man. But he's still under investigation and some of the emails from his laptop are part of the government's investigations. Whether or not the emails and texts are incriminating is up to the prosecutor.

But he's still under investigation and some of the emails from his laptop are part of the government's investigations. Whether or not the emails and texts are incriminating is up to the prosecutor. Which of his private emails do you think are incriminating? That's what's hilarious about this whole episode. In each of his cases, I can point to the statutes that, based on publicly available information, Trump appears to have violated. In some cases, such as with the Georgia election results or the classified documents, it's glaringly obvious that what Trump did was illegal. So, you've been beating this dead horse for almost four years now. Other than the gun charge and the taxes (that he actually ended up paying), exactly what crimes do you think Hunter committed?

I'm not a lawyer and it's not obvious to me that anyone was harmed so I'm in no position to determine whether he should be charged for anything revealed in the emails. But his relationship with Burisma stinks and at a minimum, Hunter used his influence to try to shake down foreign business people. To me, that sounds like a FARA violation and one of his associates has already been charged with violating FARA, but I'll accept whatever decision David Weiss makes regarding charging or not charging Hunter with more crimes. None of this stuff seems atypical to me of the unethical stuff that happens in DC and often goes unpunished. You're entitled to ignore the investigation if you want but I highly doubt that you would be so dismissive if one of Trump's children were being investigated by the DOJ. My interest is in the truth. I honestly don't care if this investigation helps or hurts Joe Biden. The thing that is great about being an unaffiliated voter is you can be free to call things as you see it without worrying about how being honest might hurt your own side.

This is why so many people on this forum call 'bull$hit' when you try to claim that you're impartial.

You're just upset that your conspiracy theories about the origins of the Hunter laptop story have been debunked by Biden's DOJ. Meanwhile, you've been silent about the obvious and rampaging corruption from Trump and Javanka where we have prima facie evidence of corruption. Because I don't have TDS. Which means, I don't get alarmed every time the guy says something stupid. Haven't done that since 2018 or so. I'm with you 80% of the time on policy issues but I don't have TDS and because of that, I'm basically a "rightwinger" to you. Which is what's wrong with politics today.

The length of time means little honestly. Look how long it took for the Feds to take the Epstein case seriously for example. It's just a cop out by you.

Cop out...LOL Republicans have been combing through this laptop since it was dropped off. Even the guy who first handled it doesn't believe there's anything incriminating on it and says the hard drive has been compromised since it's been passed around so much. Very unlikely anything substantial comes from this.
