Glenn or Chris? So will he have a couple of good seasons, break the bank with a new contract, and the suck, or will he suck right out of the gate? 😂😂 Good one. And I may be mistaken but weren't both obtained by the O's in some trade and cash from Texas. HHHHhhhhhmmmmmm I smell a conspiracy. 😉 As far as the new Browns QB. I don't know anything other than he seems pretty good and has potential.... but has ""issues"". However, from what I have been reading..... it sounds like Baker was no prize either . Pretty sure Glenn came from the national league.

Chiefs just traded Tyree Hill to the Dolphins for draft picks. That's a puzzler, and not a good omen for Mahomes. This is the consequences of giving QB's massive contracts I suppose.

I think Mahomes is good enough to overcome. But there is no way the Chiefs could afford Mahomes and the contract Miami gave to Hill. Miami must feel confident (I'm highly doubtful) that all that money to Hill and this year's 1st and 2nd plus others makes them good enough with Tua throwing the ball and a brand new coach.

KC still has Juju, Kelce, Hardman and whoever else they draft/sign. Hill is an all-world talent but KC is the one team that can absorb his loss pretty easily.

I'd be worried about Hill's kids after playing with Tua for a season.

I was just gonna post that, lol. This might be the most Cleveland move in the history of Mistakes By The Lake. It's quite possible Cleveland just gave up the farm (for the next three years at that) for a guy who may never play another down in the league. Wow.

The second GJ cleared him.
Still, he could face suspension.
Probably blows over though.

I made the mistake of reading the FB comments on an article about the Ravens. Amazingly people still think that the teams that spend the most in free agency will do the best. And apparently people also aren't aware that the NFL has a salary cap. SMH.

If he'd signed with the Cowboys or the Patriots, one of the league's golden teams, chances are Goodell would quickly sweep it under the rug. The Browns? Maybe not. Guy who owns them ripped off a huge number of his customers with a rebate scam out of his Flying J truck stops a few years back. If this blows up on him, good.

But what is an exclusive free agent vs a free agent. Exclusive (really exclusive rights) free agents are young players. I think it is three seasons. And their contract has expired. If their current team offers them a contract they cannot negotiate with other teams. As opposed to a free agent (no "exclusive rights") who can negotiate with any team. Owners in every sport have negotiated rules that are designed to ensure they receive some return on their investment in the player's training, I suppose.

I have to admit that I really don't keep up with these sort of contract things. Seems anymore regardless of the sport more is written about that than the actual game anymore. Now can you explain how caps work in the NFL. 😉🤣 I have tried looking stuff up about it only to walk away more confused. For example; how does a guy making say 20M that get's cut only 'count' for 1.2 M against the cap. If was 20 M I could understand .... but 1.2 M?

I believe that owners like them to keep salaries down in aggregate, but individual owners, particularly wealthier and less scrupulous owners, try to side step them as they can (looking at you, Bob "Happy Ending" Kraft!) Because they would like to spend as much as they want to compete, and who cares if the games are interesting? The league should; the Orioles can't compete in their division because two deep pocket teams get all the top talent, and act as if they are entitled to it because they are wealthy. A common sentiment among the wealthy: their opinion that everyone else is here to service them. But the league, everywhere, is the owners. All these conflicting sentiments lead to a series of maddeningly complicated rules. Of course, the players don't like caps at all.

Bateman switching numbers to 7. Tony Jefferson and a few other men as well, but I don't remember who they all are.

Tonight should be interesting which way the Ravens go.
The standard of 'the best athelete' or really start filling some holes.
IMHO we need an edge or monster interior defensive line man. Or someone to protect our franchise (maybe) QB.

They drafted a safety.
Then they traded Hollywood and the #100 pick to the Cardinals for the #23 pick. I guess the felt that extending Hollywood wasn't on the table, so the next best thing is to move on while they could get something for him. The fact that Jackson was throwing with Bateman but not Brown in the off-season may have influenced the thinking, but Jackson and Brown had been thick as thieves. I wonder if Brown tried to get his cousin here to a degree that injured his prospects?

I like the picks, but losing Brown hurts even if he was inconsistent.
