The RWers had thier hissy fit over players kneeling and stayed away for a year or two and then came back after COVID. I had friends "done with the NFL" and especially the Ravens after the knelt in London, but came right back once Lamar led them to a 14-2 season. It'll be the same with Bud Light. They're having their temper tantrum, but once they cool down they'll come back to the blue cans they love so much. NFL - for sure. Bud Light? Maybe not. Unlike the NFL, there are viable options to feed the thirst. Like just about every other beer on the planet if we're talking about a watered down Budweiser product.

Nonetheless brands rule.

I had a Coors Lite yesterday after a few Miller Lites and could absolutely tell the difference. Coors is devoid of taste. It's like drinking water.
People each have their favorite lite beer. It's kind of strange. I'll drink whatever but usually do Miller or Bud Light.

Nonetheless brands rule. I agree that people can't tell much difference between beers - always about branding. Quite frankly I also agree there is precious little difference among the major brands of "lite" beers, which ALL taste awful. Regular Bud or Miller watered down. Most didn't have any real taste to begin with, but water it down, tout the calories, and slap a bunch of branding and voila. It's akin to gasoline brands. Mobil, Exxon, Sunoco and other brands are all filled up from the same damn fuel terminals, with the only exception of what additives, if any, are dropped into the tanker truck for delivery.

FWIW, Boycotts usually only cause short-term pain for big companies.
Bud Light seems to have responded to the boycotts. They're already making changes due to the controversy. This whole controversy will be forgotten in a year.

While we're complaining about beer....at PNC Park last week for game, perfect warm low humidity night. Of course had to have a hot dog and beer. Why do they only sell those giant cans? It's warm by the time you're half through. And the only draft options are lite beers plus those cups are flimsy. 1st world problems I know!!

At least you have draft beer. There is none to be had at OPACY. All cans.

If you are referring to Newcastle Brown Ale, then you are certainly not talking about bland or diluted. It's not my go-to ale but a damn good standby when nothing else on the shelf is tempting. Though to be honest. I do prefer my ales to be hand-drawn from the cellar.

Meh, it was a crappy watered-down beer to begin with, so I never bought it then. No amount of discount would entice me to buy it now, and I'm certainly not gonna start drinking watered down-swill just to make a political statement that no one really cares about anyway.

Garth Brooks says that Bud Light will be served at his new place in Nashville. No big shock there... he is a very outspoken liberal. Why make the announcement, just sell it. I haven't been anywhere that doesn't offer it. I will say we went out to dinner a couple of weeks ago and my husband ordered Bud Light, it came very flat. The waiter told us that's because no one is ordering it and it just sits so he ordered a bottle of Bud Light and all was good in the world.

Yeah I feel bad for her. She's just trying to live her best life, got a gift from Bud Light, and all hell broke loose.
This is probably the one story that makes me think this country is full of idiots with nothing better to do.

I don't know how large the pile of cash is that Mulvaney received for this, but I'm sure it is substantial. And whatever comments she received are probably being exaggerated. Everyone knew who she was before this happened, and she hasn't changed. While I'm sure there are some jack-wagons out there who've said some rude things, it seems unlikely to me that it would be different than all the hate Mulvaney got prior to this. The amount of BS probably went up because of how visible this is, but that was the point of this campaign, wasn't it? To increase Mulvaney's profile. Which happened in spades. She will profit handsomely from this, and isn't a victim. If there are victims here, they're the AB In-Bev stockholders, and Bud Light distributors.
