Terrible decisions at the marketing level lead to people losing their jobs. I hope BL is proud of themselves. Know your audience BL, know your audience. And who is their audience exactly? Why are you asking me that? It's been addressed in this thread.

It hasn't really. People have said BL "should know their audience" but no one has tried to venture a guess at who that audience is. I thought you knew since you sounded like you did.
The beer drinking audience is a pretty vast audience made up of people from all walks of life and political beliefs.
I guess a few of them couldn't handle their favorite beer company gifting a trans person with a custom beer can with their face on it.

Clearly Bud Light underestimated the sheer number of snowflakes drinking their beer.

You know very well it was far more than simply gifting Mulvaney with a personalized can. I'm not sure why you make these feeble attempts at gaslighting people. www.them.us/story/dylan-mulvaney-bud-light-drama-explained

I'm not sure why you make these feeble attempts at gaslighting people. www.them.us/story/dylan-mulvaney-bud-light-drama-explainedNo, actually I didn't, but thanks for the article. I thought the whole hub-bub was over the gift can and the comments the marketing director made about ditching the "fratty" image. Re-reading through the thread I came upon what the marketing director, since fired, said about attracting younger people. She was told upon her hiring that the "brand was dying" and needed to gain younger customers. This makes sense since younger people are drinking less and drinking less beer when they do drink. So I can get the logic of trying to reach out to younger audiences and TikTok is certainly a way to do that and Mulvaney is certainly a person to attract a different demographic. So what this always was was capitalism at work. Trying to win over new customers. The customers here just happened to be younger, and younger people tend to be more accepting of gay and trans people. So I still don't see what all the fuss is about. As was mentioned in your article, other beer manufacturers such as Coors have partnered with and supported LGBTQ movement throughout the years. I remember when the Disney stuff happened all the RW snowflakes were like "I'm going to Dollyworld instead!" not realizing that Dolly has always been a big champion of the LGBTQ community. I guess seeing BL's new marketing strategy up close and personal turned a lot of snowflake bigots off. Oh well. More Bud Light for me.

The RW is pretty nihilistic. I don't think they care deeply about much of anything beyond their combustible value. They have the attention span of a bucket of gnats.

Both parties are very nihilistic currently.
This forum is a microcosm of the tribalism and nihilism that exists in our nation’s politics today.

This came after Rogan recently said 1/6 was an inside job.
What an odd dude. All over the place.
Starting to think he says crazy stuff that will get his show clicks. In that regard he's no different than any media site out there.
I can appreciate his approach to entertainment and enjoyed his comedy but let's remember this guy was a host of Fear Factor...it's not like he is an expert in anything he discusses.

He represents the average heterosexual adult male and he asks great questions during his interviews. But I agree that people shouldn’t follow his advice on politics or medical stuff. At best he’s entertaining.

Not sure if people still care. The Bud Light boycott had some success. The boycotters made their point about "woke capitalism". Now businesses are becoming more skittish about dabbling into the social justice stuff. Time to move on...

It's obviously an issue since the right is whining about it but I agree it's time to move on. Just make sure to tell Tucker that.

I'm pretty sure Bud Light got the message loud and clear. I believe the boycott was effective. Some that boycotted will never go back, others went back and are happy they were heard.
I'm pretty sure a lot of corporations took notice as well.
Bud Light has raised their prices around here again. They boycott didn't stop my husband from drinking Bud Light but the increases might.

Bud Light can't win. It fired the people responsible for trying to appeal to a different audience, course corrected their marketing campaign with more masculine ads, partnered with UFC...I think BL did get the message but the snowflakes who complained won't take yes for an answer.
Kid Rock is drinking BL again...maybe someone should tell the toxic males out there who cried over Dylan Mulvaney they can drink it again too.

Haven't seen Tucker comment on this issue recently. And I know you love the Daily Beast but they're worse than Twitter in many ways... It was Hannity. I only use the Daily Beast news aggregator. If you have a problem with DB, which you clearly don't when they say something you agree with, you could always go to the Bloomberg article they linked to. The problem I have with the DB is how they often punch-Left (attack the far-Left or populist Left) and how they use their own misleading headlines in their news aggregation. In that sense, I view the DB as no better than biased accounts on Twitter.

You shouldn't be. This is not a new revelation, he's always used the n word, black people in the industry call him the n word. It's part of the culture he has created for himself. It's as if he has been granted a "pass" to use the n word.
