Wells moved to the 60 day IL. A UCL strain, but surgery is not expected. (It never is, and it usually happens.) Tyler or Alex? Tyler pitched last night.

Alex either didn't pitch at all, or just pitched a game or two, before the UCL problem sidelined him. He's been on the 10-day IL for awhile now. Sometimes these guys need UCL rebuild surgery but don't realize it, think they can rehab it, or hope to avoid it. So they linger on IL for awhile before they make the decision. I hope A Wells can successfully rehab this, but I fear the surgeon's knives lurk downstream of him.

Awesome game last night. Came back from two big deficits to win. Just another reminder this team has oodles of heart.

So…bad luck strikes again. Grayson Rodriguez, our best pitching prospect in a long time and one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball was pulled from his last start. Back cramps. He has a strain. Probably going to sideline for 2 months. He was on schedule to be called up at any moment.

No reason to push him and risk creating a structural problem that costs him 2023.

Gunnar Henderson (#3) and Jordan Westburg (#6), two top prospects, have been promoted to AAA. Henderson is an infielder and Westburg a shortstop. Both hit well at AA, particularly Henderson, whose plate discipline has been impressive.

Unlikely we see Henderson before June 2023. They'll play the service clock game with him like they did with Adley.

5 HR last night. Many different players wore the O's homerun chain. Hays hit a HR into the upper deck. I think it's only the 5th time an Oriole has done so.

Santander and Akin to the restricted list. I assume that means they are not vaccinated and so cannot help their team in Toronto. A few guys brought up as replacement players from Norfolk.

Just another reminder this team has oodles of heart. This team doesn't actually suck. Lot of good young talent, just need to fill in some pieces and pitching(as usual). They are fun to watch.

DL Hall had a good outing at Norfolk, striking out 11 of 13. Hope to see him later this season or next.

O's shut out the Rays last night 1-0. Dean Kremer pitched a scoreless 6 IP.

Austin Hays hit for the cycle last night. He did it in his first 4 ABs.

The O's are a few starting pitchers away from being a very good team. I am loving how this rebuild is taking shape. They've got some flamethrowers in the bullpen too. Hopefully the Angelos family doesn't screw it up somehow.

Hopefully the Angelos family doesn't screw it up somehow. Never underestimate their ability to. I'd like to see them add two SPs in the offseason and a real power hitter. Then, with guys like Grayson Rodriguez, DL Hall, Gunnar Henderson, Kyle Stowers, etc. we may actually have a real shot to compete for a postseason berth.

I have not yet shaken off my lack of interest / enthusiasm in the Orioles over the last three years. Perhaps it is time to take another look.

They won last night 3-0. Second shutout in a row. Adley hit a BOMB. Dean Kramer looks like he could be a nugget. The team is fun to watch and they don’t quit either.

They'd be at .500 had they not blown a couple of saves against the Twins. This team appears to be getting better as the season progresses. They still have a decent shot at a WC if they keep trending this way.

Starting pitching has been very very good over last 20 games. They showed a stat that the starting pitching has had lowest ERA over that time either in AL or in all of baseball. Pretty shocking considering we don’t have Means and GRod hasn’t pitched in the majors yet.
Bullpen has been shaky over last week or so but overall the pitching has been a very pleasant surprise.

Obviously this team is playing better than most imagined, but it's frustrating that the FO/Ownership went with a barebones payroll for the season. A little extra investment could've added to what's turned into a competitive team.

A little extra investment could've added to what's turned into a competitive team. Presumably Elias is following a plan and does not wish to deviate from it even with a wild card berth possibility. Trying to rush into the playoffs spurred Angelos to make some questionable decisions over the years. (Well, that and making decisions solely on the basis of marketing.) We do not need a return to that. As long as they keep improving I am willing to give Elias the benefit of the doubt.

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle that if we continue to play well. Part of that is if he play well with the guys not producing much at those positions it’s not worth bringing up these prospects and burning a year of service time.
