Sport writers love to over promise on the Yankees.

How many wins this year? I am going with 98

2023 Projections:
Yankees - 96 wins, actual was 82 Orioles - 74 wins, actual was 101
Maybe 2024 will be better for the Yankees as their payroll is almost $300 million.

The Yankees look promising but I think the Orioles should be favorites for the AL East after last season.

I think most are viewing the O's as the favorite as they should.
I'd say 98 is a pretty fair guess. 95-105 range.

Wow, that's pretty optimistic. Put me down for 90 wins.
I think losing Bradish (and Means) for any extended period of time hurts significantly. I also think the BP will be very suspect.
Offense was 4th in AL last year...not sure what to make of them so far. We could have a few rookies on the OD roster.
Either way this should be a postseason team.

I'll say 90 - 95 wins. I do not expect Bradish to pitch this year; it is now merely a question of when he realizes he needs Tommy John surgery, as most who have UCL problems eventually do. Means is a big question mark: does he have the endurance? Fortunately they have a legitimate ace in Burnes, and an up-and-comer still working out the kinks in GRod. But as with many teams I think pitching, overall, will be the weak area. I don't think offense will be a problem for them.

While it's just spring training, the O's have been dominating. Farm system is so deep.

Good sign - Bradish threw a bullpen session today. Means scheduled for one - www.espn.com/mlb/team/injuries/_/name/balHopefully Bradish doesn't feel any soreness. Just saw Gerrit Cole is shut down, and it doesn't look good for him.

I have seen other sites picking the Yankees to win the division. Jordan Montgomery is still out there. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Yankees take him on if Cole is out for extended time. I am still hoping the Orioles get him.

I have seen other sites picking the Yankees to win the division. Probably a lot of NYY homers out there. This is almost every year you see this. The Yankees are not looking any better than last year, given Cole could be out extended time, offsetting the Soto acquisition. Plus, you know Judge will only play about 1/2 the season if he's lucky. I'm starting to think his career is going to be cut short.

While it would be awesome, Yankees aren't finishing 72-90.

Well. I guess there's no need to play the games now that Strat-O-Matic has weighed in.

Watching the pregame thing, they had an In Memoriam section. Apparently Ryan Minor died. He was the player who replaced Ripken at 3B in ‘98. Played a few seasons, never came to much.
Anyways, back in MD for Easter and hyped for the O’s!

The easiest explanation is that he was gambling himself. But it could be that his interpreter was basically his outlet to the English speaking world and had access to all this stuff. Who knows?

I dunno if the Angels kinda suck or what but either way Burnes was killing them. The Angels suck but the Os are rightfully projected to win the division. They’re gonna be good again this season.

11 runs and 11 strikeouts from the new ace, ain't the beer cold?

Awesome opening day. The crowd was jacked from first pitch. I hope we can re-sign Burnes he's a stud.

I no longer look forward to going to Camden Yards for Os vs Yanks games because the Os are usually the favorites to win and the stadium is way more crowded than it used to be.
Still nice to see the fans back and the city having more than just the Ravens to be excited about.
