I no longer look forward to going to Camden Yards for Os vs Yanks games because the Os are usually the favorites to win and the stadium is way more crowded than it used to be. Still nice to see the fans back and the city having more than just the Ravens to be excited about. The game today reminded me of the bad old days when the Yanks/Sox would come to town and destroy the Dave Trembley O’s. Fortunately it featured the O’s in the role of the team that refused to swing at bad pitches, lit up mistakes, hit good pitches too and just generally rocked it while the Angels looked pretty bad at all facets of the game. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen 9 guys come up and 9 guys score before.

Juan Soto is the embodiment of an "Impact player". Despite Judge and Anthony Rizzo being quiet in the Houston series, the Yankees swept all four games. Soto seems to make the entire Yankees lineup better. My guess is, the Yanks will pay the premium to keep him beyond this season.

Tough loss yesterday but good to see Wells settle in and very impressive that Henderson took the bases loaded BB, not something you’d expect from a player that young especially when one swing ties it.

Three games in... 'bout time for Judge to hit IL for the first stint of '24, isn't it?

I never bought into the predictions that had the Yankees in last place. But it's going to take a miracle for Judge to play a full season. You better hope he can somehow though because even with Soto, that lineup isn't very good without Judge.

I had a lot of respect for the 1990s Yankees even though I strongly rooted against them. They at least developed the core of those teams.

Yeah, the Os will be good for years before they have to really spend to bring in stars. But at least now, they have owners with deep pockets who can keep up with the Yanks and Red Sox. Burnes looks like your Ace though. I can see the Os signing him to a long-term deal after this season.

They absolutely can spend big on Free Agents now. Will they? Not sure at this point.

Keep that same energy when your new Billionaire owners start paying big bucks to lock in some star players 🙂 Orioles aren't running a $300 million payroll even with the new owner. John Angelos tried to convince everyone that the Orioles had to have a bottom 5 payroll even though the payroll was up to $150 million less than a decade ago.
Funniest thing about Yankees fans on social media is they think Cashman and Hal are cheap.

Funniest thing about Yankees fans on social media is they think Cashman and Hal are cheap. It’s not so much that they’re cheap, they’ve just made some bad decisions on Free Agent acquisitions over the last decade or so. They haven’t spent money wisely. Passing up on Bryce Harper when he was begging for the Yanks to give him a call was a huge mistake that pissed off a lot of fans. My broader point is, the Orioles can no longer be considered a “poor” team in terms of their spending on potential free agents with their new owners. They have deep pockets now.

After a 4 game sweep by the Yankees, the Astros go ahead and no-hit the Blue Jays. Talking baseball.

I’m still not used to the left field wall. That Rutschman fly out to lead off the 9th looked like 4-2 to me.

Hell of a comeback in a game where they looked lost. Heading up to Pittsburgh tonight for tomorrow's game against the Pirates.

I missed the game but caught the highlights on the sports blog. It's a long season, but I see a bright future and come from behind games help harden and builds confidence to fight instead of fold. A most valuable lesson.

I hate bunting! No bunting! I suppose it all worked out though. Burnes looked shaky command-wise and still only gave up 2.

Norfolk won 26-11 last night. Several O's prospects had huge nights.
Meanwhile, Jorge Mateo was playing CF last night and missed a catch that Mullins, Cowser or pretty much another natural OFer makes.

No outs and moved the runners to second and third and sac fly ties it. With the way the bats were going, fear of a double play was certainly there.

I get that Hyde was trying to avoid lefty/lefty, but Mateo can't hit and still had two strikeouts.

Holiday will be up as soon as they can without losing the extra year of team control. Bank on that. Mateo, he is worthless. Honestly, I think Cowser will be the starting CF before the season is out.
