It's nice to be 7-4 with so many guys having cold starts. Now it seems like Adley has been bitten by the slump bug. He looked overmatched last night. Rare to see that happen. There was an at bat in Pittsburgh where Kevin Brown noted he hasn’t struck out all season and has a bunch of walks and literally since that moment he’s struck out a bunch and hardly walked. I’m not saying Kevin Brown should be thrown in a volcano but I’m willing to help carry up to the top of one.

Going into the Pittsburgh series, Adley was the only player in all of MLB who hadn't struck out in 2024. I mentioned that to my wife sitting in the stands and then he struck out. She blamed me.

What a game. What a series.
Holliday makes his debut but it’s Cowser who was the star. Especially today.
You can’t count these guys out. They look dead for 5-6 innings and then bam. They’re somehow winning.
What a beautiful series.

Red Sox defense with another assist. Man they look terrible.

Red Sox bullpen seems pretty bad too.

The sequence of events in that 8th inning was insane. MASN goes to a commercial break thinking inning is over, and then they come back to Santander hitting a HR to take the lead.

I’m totally going to forget to cancel this Apple TV subscription I just bought. Any good shows on it?

Is Cowser eligible for ROY or did he play too much last year? Cause he’s on fire so far.
——- I looked it up, he’s eligible.

Horrible game. Wells is not a MLB caliber SP. Holliday looks like he needs more time in the minors. The offense overall despite their comeback ability hasn't found their footing yet.

Holliday is pressing, expanding the zone, swinging at high fastballs and low breaking stuff. Hopefully, he gets a hit or two and relaxes.

It is, in my opinion, too soon to send Holliday back down. Lot of guys struggle when the first come up. If we're having this discussion in May, then my opinion is likely to have changed.

Good win today and Holliday got the monkey off his back. Let’s see how he does in next series. I’ll be there tomorrow.
Oh and Milwaukee is good. Don’t look now but the “easy April” people told us we had has turned out to be a beast. I think together the teams we played are 20 games over .500.

Brewers lineup is ridiculous right now. If Yelich didn’t get hurt, O’s might’ve gotten swept.

Way too many pitches from Irvin to get through a Twins lineup where seemingly everyone is hitting .150.

Way too many pitches from Irvin to get through a Twins lineup where seemingly everyone is hitting .150. Yeah, the sooner he's out of the rotation the better. But I still think he could improve and be a useful SP when needed. That Mullins catch...that may have been the best defensive play I've seen in person. Amazing. It's between that and the Machado phantom throw.

I was at the game when Trout made his catch but I arrived late and missed it. I think the Devereaux catch is the best defensive play of my lifetime... I wasn't there to see it live, though. The Brooks play in the 1970 world series is the best Oriole defensive play I've seen, ever.

That catch was a thing of beauty. He really did fly like a superhero!
Sportscaster this morning said Jackie Robinson's widow is still alive at 101! Good for her. She was at the Mets game.

I went to the Mets game on Sunday. They retired Gooden’s number. He gave a speech, kinda dug at the Mets a little. About how he kept wanting to come back to the team but they wouldn’t sign him. So he went and won a World Series. With the Yankees! Crowd booed him for that.

Orioles continue bludgeoning the ball. Lead MLB in HR's now. G-Rod was decent, but not quite his best. Team is 8-0 now when Burnes or G-Rod start.
Holliday continues to scuffle, but he's been hitting the ball harder, just some bad luck. Seems to be more comfortable overall I think.

Wells to IL. Some dude named Albert Suarez is starting today.
Doubtful Wells goes back to rotation since Means should be ready to go by the time Wells is able to come off IL.
In other news, Bradish had a successful rehab start for Bowie last night. 44 pitches across 3 IP, no runs allowed.

I noticed he seems to have mostly stopped swinging at pitches clearly out of the zone but is now taking a lot of called strikes instead. The first one, plate discipline, is essential. The second one, realizing the least of the pitchers he faces in the show will be as good as the best he faced in AAA, should come with experience. That said, I'd like him to acquire that experience sooner rather than later. And I'd like him to stop being stone-handed on defense, as well. Definitely some settling-in adjustments, but let's remember how young he is.

Oh for sure, I’m all in on letting him play at this level. When the rest of the team is hitting 3 bombs a game, it doesn’t really matter anyway how productive he is. Speaking of that, I gotta enter the MD lottery home run thing, all these people coming away with 2 stacks.
