I understand very well how to read a map. It appears you don’t. Despite $200 billion in aid for Ukraine since 2022, the map hasn’t changed in Ukraine’s favor in a year in a half. The failure of last summer’s Ukrainian counteroffensive proved that they’re not able to militarily defeat the Russians. And the fact that Ukraine stopped the Russians at Mykolaiv, then kicked the Russians away from the outskirts of Kyiv, out of Sumy, Kharkiv, Snake Island, the right bank of the Dnipro, and the Western Black Sea while also slaughtering tens of thousands of Russians at Bakhmut and Avdiivka shows that they can. Last year's counteroffensive came to a halt because the GOP extremists in the House pulled the rug out from under Ukraine by withholding much needed ammunition. The amount of artillery shells we were supplying started declining in October 2023 and ground to a complete halt by December. Ukraine's summer counteroffensive began in June 2023. By the Fall of 2023 it was already widely viewed as a failure. You're overlooking the reality that support for aiding Ukraine has declined as it becomes apparent that they're unlikely to militarily win the war. Surveys show that Western support for Ukraine correlates with the view that they're winning or likely to win. If the perception that they are losing or unlikely to win is growing, it shouldn't be surprising that support for sending aid to Ukraine is declining: "As we have shown in previous polls, the degree of support for Ukraine is highly correlated with the public’s evaluation of Ukraine winning or Russia losing. In the October poll, we noted stories stressing Ukrainian successes and Russian failures, which may have accounted for higher confidence in the outcome. In the newest poll, there is a marked drop in the assessment that Ukraine is winning, and Russia is losing — a drop that echoes the decline in the public’s preparedness to pay a price for supporting Ukraine: Overall, the assessment that Russia is losing fell from 48% in October to 37% in April, and the assessment that Ukraine is succeeding went from 43% in October to 26% in April. It is also notable that there were parallel drops in the assessments of both Republicans and Democrats."www.brookings.edu/articles/americans-show-signs-of-impatience-with-ukraine-war/The failure of Ukraine's counteroffensive last summer was a major turning point in this war and not a favorable one for Ukraine's efforts.

You're overlooking the reality that support for aiding Ukraine has declined as it becomes apparent that they're unlikely to militarily win the war. Actually, that's just your wishful thinking. Western support has remained steady and, in the case of Europe, increased dramatically as Europe tries desperately to compensate for the House GOP's shocking effort to get the United States to abdicate its global leadership role. In fact, not more than an hour ago the Japanese Prime Minister told the GOP majority to pull its head out of its arse twitter.com/Gerashchenko_en/status/1778428803460562997twitter.com/kajakallas/status/1778447143763669228 And let's be clear. On the one hand you're complaining because French President Macron is talking about sending French troops to Ukraine but somehow you want us to believe that western support for Ukraine has declined? You say anything at any given moment in your feverous efforts to convince us to serve Ukraine to Putin on a silver platter.

You misunderstood my point. I was referring to public opinion, not the politicians who ignore public opinion in their own countries. Germany: France: Euronews poll: Gallup on American voters: How long can leaders of democracies ignore public opinion? Not sure. I don't think it's a decisive issue in the minds of most voters. But I can see why the domestic political consequences for what Republicans in the House are doing is pretty much non-existent at this point.

It is stupid to make national security decisions based on polls but let's get to the point. Europe has actually gotten more bullish on Ukraine and more determined to defeat Russia than two years ago. Macron is the most obvious example but there are plenty of others

The Biden administration is flat out wrong about this.

Ukraine’s boneheaded leaders are dumb enough to bite the hand that feeds them More bitter tears... You can't stand the fact that these so-called 'boneheaded leaders' have handed Putin one humiliating defeat after another while rally the west to their cause.

Blowback from his own invasion? Don't be silly. As has been pointed out to you, Putin's military has been hitting Ukraine's energy infrastructure since the winter of 2022/2023.
