Spiking the football prematurely again, I see 1. Most independent analysis suggests that Russia has lost 3,000 tanks since February 2022, including a disastrous assault near Avdiivka just this past weekend that left more than 20 Russian tanks and vehicles in smoking ruins on the battlefield. 2. At 1500 tanks per year, you're looking at, a minimum, three to four years before Russia has fully reconstituted its arsenal of tanks and that doesn't even take into consideration the loss of these tank crews which are highly trained individuals. By the way, it's good to see you finally acknowledging that Putin is a threat to Europe. From your article...

History is not going to be kind to Speaker Mike Johnson if he continues withhold aid and the US is seen as turning its back on Ukraine.

Sacks is spot-on as usual Sacks is a no nothing defeatist moron. He's also not honest. One day you'll learn that just because some arsehat tech bro made a ton of money on some IPOs that doesn't mean he actually knows anything about the military or world politics

One day you'll learn that just because some arsehat tech bro made a ton of money on some IPOs that doesn't mean he actually knows anything about the military or world politics I couldn’t care less about Sacks’ career as a venture capitalist or his friendship with Elon Musk. Geopolitics is a Chess match, not a high school cafeteria. The only reason his professional background is worth noting is because someone in his business succeeds because they know how to conduct research and they don’t make decisions based on emotion. Sacks’ geopolitical analysis has been solid because it’s not driven by emotions or wishful thinking. You can keep trusting the BS’ers in Congress or the editors of The Atlantic if you enjoy being misled. And he's not wrong. Our ability to adequately support multiple simultaneous wars is strained currently.

The only thing preventing us from adequately supporting Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan right now is House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Right now the discharge petition has 195 signatures, 23 short of the number needed to force a floor vote on the Senate Supplemental Appropriation bill which includes funding for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
The feeling is that they are giving Johnson the benefit of the doubt but at some point a GOP representative like Turner will ultimately sign on which will give the green light for other republicans to sign on and it will get to 218.

Ukraine is still on borrowed time and money. Americans didn’t sign up for giving Ukraine 40-60 billion year after year.

Putin's European Invasion Tour is going to have to wait a little bit longer. The Russians have been fighting for the same area of Ukraine for two years. At this rate, it will take Putin 20 years to capture all of Ukraine. Neither side can get a clean win. There will be a negotiated end to the war eventually.

Putin's European Invasion Tour is going to have to wait a little bit longer. The next couple of weeks are going to be rough but we'll look back on this House vote as the moment when the pendulum started swinging back toward Ukraine. A lot depends on how quickly the Biden administration moves weapons and ammunition into Ukraine and whether or not they actually start providing long range ATACMs

At best, the aid Congress approved will buy Ukraine some time but it’s extremely naive to think it fundamentally will change “everything” for Ukraine.
They still have men fleeing the country to avoid the draft and they still haven’t proven themselves capable of major ground offensives against Russia’s post-Kherson 2022 defensive lines.
Ukraine alone can’t defeat Russia in a ground war and no amount of financial or military assistance changes that calculus…
