I admit I haven’t been a prayin’ woman for quite a few years. However, my son is very ill...and I find myself praying and willingly accepting all prayers offered on his behalf. He’s been in and out of the hospital for over a month now, his latest stay has been a week and a half with at least another week to go. It started with his Crohn’s meds not working and only got worse - now he has 3 blood clots (2 in lungs) and he is on blood thinners. He’s also receiving nutrition thru a TPN which is a direct-to-vein process. He’s never been so ill and I’ve never been so scared. His wife is taking incredible care of him. She is amazing. I thank God for her. They had to cut their Ireland honeymoon short because he ended up in the hospital there. So, if you have prayers to send...send them our way. Thank you 💓

Prayers for your son that he gets better, for his wife that she has the strength and love to continue to care for him, and for you for the strength to watch your son be so ill and not be able to fix it.

Father,
We come to You once again on this extraordinary forum, seeking Your help and consolation. Pink's son is sick and we are helpless to do anything, save hold on to hope and seek peace.
We ask You then to do what our limited knowledge has, as yet, been unable to do; heal Pink's son. Ease his pain and strengthen him against this illness. Give his wife the strength, and selflessness and endurance to continue to provide for him. Ease Pink's anxiety and if it is Your will, bring him back to us, hale and hearty, and able to serve in Your earthly service.
Amen.

I will pray for him. This started on his honeymoon? That's a brutal way to start a marriage. I'm glad for his sake (and yours) that she is so strong. I will keep his health in my thoughts and prayers.

I will keep his health in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you. Delayed honeymoon - they were married in April, and have been together for 9 yrs. He didn’t let on how bad he felt before the trip! She texted me when he was in the hospital in Ireland “I don’t know what to do. I’m all alone in Killarney.” It broke my heart...and scared me. But since then (Oct) she has become Wonder Woman! I’m so proud of her. I keep telling her she’s an amazing young woman.

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you.
Allow Your healing Hand to heal the son of PF. Touch my soul with Your compassion for others; touch my heart with Your courage and infinite Love for all; touch my mind with Your Wisdom, and may my mouth always proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to You in all my needs, and help me to lead others to You by my example.
Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring to the son of PF health in body and spirit that he and I may serve You with all our strength. Touch gently this life which you have created, now and forever.
Amen.

My son looks and feels better. There’s so many variables and it’s an emotional rollercoaster. But, his face is no longer gaunt looking and he can breathe well and walk a couple laps around the ICU without his heart rate going too high. All good. 👍 He needs to be stable before he’s discharged...and then he’ll be seeing a Crohn’s specialist. It’ll be several months of healing...but we’re seeing improvement in his immediate condition. Don’t stop those prayers, they’re working!! 😊

Father,
We have great joy today, as one of our own is recovering!
Please continue to hold both Pink's son and Rael's son in Your hand. We ask that, if it is Your will, they be brought back to their families to nurture them and to strengthen them. We look to the day when their health is fully restored and that serve Your will by loving their families all the more.
In Your Son's name,
Amen.

Hows your son doing pink? Hoping he is still showing improvement. I was about to post that everything looks great and he might be going home. But, he just called and said there was blood from his colon this morning. So they gave him 2 bags of blood. It could be the Xarelto he just started. 🙄 So, he went from eating soft foods and hoping to leave...to back to no food or drink until they figure this out. 😫

I'm on Warfarin and every once in a while my levels go a bit haywire and when they do, I tend to leak blood too. Sending my best thoughts to him and to you.

Turns out he has an ulcer in his stomach. All part of having Crohn’s Blood thinners can cause a stomach ulcer to bleed...thus the blood the other day. So, most likely they’ll be inserting a mesh filter (thru his groin) that will keep the blood clots from moving further, and he won’t need the blood thinners anymore. Today was his 19th day in the hospital. He was losing his mind this morning...but when I left at 6, he was calmer. We know more now and there’s a plan of action. 👍 All I want for Christmas is for him to be able to go home.

Poor guy, I'm sure he wants nothing more than to be home as well. I truly hope you all get your Christmas wish!!

Been through ulcer treatment, but fortunately, not as a result of Crohn's. Amoxicillin, Nexium worked quickly. Hopefully, the mesh procedure gets him straight for treatment.

He had the mesh filter inserted this morning. They played classic rock and he says it only took 2 songs. Bed rest all today. He sounded great on the phone. No more blood thinners! He can have one light meal a day (still on a nighttime TPN nutrition) and his bloodwork looks good. Hopefully he can go home in a couple days. Gotta go bake tollhouse cookies, per his request, to take this afternoon. 👍👍

My wife has Crohn's, so I know some of what you've been dealing with. Not nearly as bad, and I hope it doesn't get to this level.
All the best, Pink.

He was on Remicade and in remission for about 10 years. Then he built up antibodies to it, which we expected. However, the next med, Humira, didn’t work. Neither did Entyvio. They’re going to start him on Stelara combined with a daily Imuran pill. Fingers crossed.
