Needed that win big time.
Awesome game. Felt like a game the O’s were going to give away.

Nice to see Stowers get his first MLB HR. Very important win if they want to stay in the race, hope they can take 1 game at Houston.

The teams above us won't lose. TB has won 6 straight. Toronto 3. Our best bet is to pass Seattle.

Solid walk off win last night. And Stowers with the tying home run in the 9th. On the radio they opined that the pitcher who gave that up needed to drop a few bucks into the swear jar.

Won again last night. The downside is Seattle won too. Still 2.5 games out.

Taking 2 of 3 in Houston was beyond enormous - and truly signifies this team is a playoff contender.

Gunnar Henderson has been called up.
Orioles also signed 1B Jose Aguilar who was released from the Marlins.
Looks like the leash is getting shorter for Ryan Mountcastle.

Decent debut for Henderson.

Last Oriole to have a HR as first AB was Trey Mancini.

Decent debut for Henderson. Better than decent.

Henderson again shined in a big win. This kid is a major talent, and these young kids are really creating what should be a major nucleus of star power on this team for years to come.
Got the A's now, a chance to make some more headway in the race.

But the teams ahead of us just keep on winning too. Tampa has one 5 in a tow, Seattle 6 and Toronto 2.
We do still have 10 games to play against Toronto and a double header against them tomorrow so we do kinda control our own destiny.

Ugh, dropping both yesterday has them 4.5 back. Need to take these next two or the hole might get too deep.

Must win next two games or the season is over.

Yup, pretty much do or die. Yesterday's games had a lot of bad luck going on.

I also cannot believe the ump who called a balk on Gausman didn't eject him when Gausman confronted him and started yelling. He gets ejected 9 times out of 10 for that.

Huge win last night. Hyde used the bullpen in the 4th and managed it like it was a 5 inning save. It worked.
Toronto is a bunch of chumps. Trash talking and whining. Benches cleared last night but nothing happened.
Win tonight to split.

Yeah, that was seriously intense! I truly despise the Jays, they are worse than the 2014 Royals.

Yeah, that was seriously intense! I truly despise the Jays, they are worse than the 2014 Royals. They've won nothing, yet they chirp like they have. And it's been a years-long issue across different managers and players.

Losing 3/4 to the team you're chasing in the WC standings is not the way to make the postseason. I think they lack the firepower and experience to make a run. These guys haven't played a full season much less been through the September grind to make the postseason. Maybe next year. Just go out and make this team an expected winner.

Toronto is simply a better, more experienced team at this point. They really should have a much better record than they do.
That being said, the Orioles young nucleus of talent is enviable to a lot of teams. They're going to be a very good team going forward.

The AL East is always good. That makes winning much harder to do but I agree we are set up pretty well to make postseason these next few years.

Losing 3 of 4 to the team they're chasing for a wild card berth was probably the dagger in the post-season hopes. The bullpen did everything that could be expected; the starting pitching just isn't ready. They have some talent who should emerge next year. The rest of this year, glide to a stop without getting anyone hurt, then prepare for next year.

Somehow, the O's are still barely in this thing, but in this thing. Teams above them seem to be similarly scuffling. 4 games out. I don't think they'll make it, but I would like to see them finish over .500 which should be to every O's fan a hugely successful season.

Lot of talent up, more in the pipe. Just maybe the kids knew better than their dad: leave baseball matters to those who know what they're doing, as Elias appears to. Peter was his own worst enemy in the sense that he thought he understood how to general manage a ballclub.
