Lots of racists online took off their masks yesterday to make fun of Mayor Scott. The conspiracy theories were annoying too but I think that will fade as the details become clearer. Examples?

Sen. Schmitt specified a set of action taken by the Biden regime. Which of the ones he specified is incorrect? Interesting that you ask. How is a Singapore flagged cargo ship ramming a 50 year bridge connected to Hunter Biden's laptop? Does the decision by whack job GOP house members to hold up pictures of Hunter Biden's junk in committee meetings somehow affect the Secretary of Transportation's ability to speak about efforts to clear the channel and rebuild the bridge? More and more, I've come to realize that today's Trumpist GOP and its cheerleaders are totally bonkers.

Heard on the news there's a call for "salvage vessels". Always amazing to me how much I don't know. Thank God there are people who know how to address these kinds of disasters. My completely uninformed thought is clearing the harbor is the less difficult part compared to rebuilding the bridge.Thank God for expertise. I think so. And the real question is... can they reopen the harbor if they clear the main channel or do they have to clear all the debris for fear that things may shift with the tides? And I agree, while I know many here think I'm a know-it-all, all I really know is that there are vast areas where i have no clue JIM, I believe they will have to clear everything. All they need is a girder to shift and you have a hull with a hole. And if it was an LNG tanker, you also have a VERY large noise.

Fox News blamed the border and the victims are immigrants. Not a good look for them. It all depends on whether the immigrants were here legally or not.

Complicating matters, the shipping line has just declared "force majeure" which, roughly translated means "hey, there's a big problem in Baltimore Harbor, so we are going to drop your cargo at whatever port we can offload it and it's up to you get it where it needs to go. Have a nice day." For those of you like me whose French is a little rusty.... Force majeure is a French term that literally means “greater force.” It is related to the concept of an act of God, an event for which no party can be held accountable, such as a hurricane or a tornado. However, force majeure also encompasses human actions, such as armed conflict.
I suspect the declaration has more to do with lawsuits than it does with where the cargo is going to go.

His point is that the Biden regime has been wrong on so many things and has lied about so many things that people are reluctant to believe anything they say anymore.
Considering the recent warnings from the FBI an act of terrorism is always going to be a consideration when events like this occur.
Likewise with he flood of illegal immigrants over the last 3 years the legal status of immigrants involved is always going to be a consideration when events like this occur.
When discussing things like this there are 2 things people need to keep in mind:
1. The difference between an interrogatory sentence and a declarative sentence.
2. The difference between "imply" and "infer".

When I had my clearance I read a report by the Sandia Labs as to what could happen in the event of an LNG leak from a ship or a shore facility. There's not much I can tell you but believe me the results would look more like Hiroshima than the collapse of the Key Bridge.

LNG is compressed to between 2900 and 3600 PSI and -260F. Release that to the outside temperature and air pressure and the noise and explosion would be cataclysmic.

Force majeure also covers mechanical failure, so long as there is no record of failing to provide proper maintenance.

Add to the complexity of the clearing process the current conditions in the Patapsco. Essentially black water with little to no visibility, shifting currents, a channel littered with steel twisted and broken into sharp shards that can easily pierce anything in that comes in contact, and the divers who have to secure lines to the debris in order have it all hoisted or dragged to the surface or shore. The people who do this kind of work earn my highest respect. This isn't vacuuming up the bottom of a pool. I'm definitely not a marine expert in any sense of the term. I wonder what kind of equipment will be deployed in the salvage operation.

The problem is the explosion might not occur immediately. LNG is heavier than air and could spread out along the ground before it explodes. The longer the time between the leak and the explosion the farther the gas spreads and the farther the gas spreads the more devastating the explosion will be when it occurs.

Where do you live? Just curious. It's after 3:00 A.M. here. You a night owl too? Now, as to the topic at hand. Finding nothing to complain about in my 2nd offering you have switch to "What-Aboutism." That's not very productive in that if I accused Biden of ( Fill In The Blank) you could find a (R) who did the same thing. And round and round we would go. Of course I could point out that Melania Trump is not now and never has been POTUS.

Fox News blamed the border and the victims are immigrants. Not a good look for them. It all depends on whether the immigrants were here legally or not. No it doesn't. Republicans are seeking to close the border and stop ALL immigration through the southern border, legal or otherwise. They also want to crack down significantly on asylum process which is a legal process. Fox News was disgusting to attempt to connect this incident to the border. It's a big reason why so many people don't take them, and republicans, seriously.
